The drinking giraffes are awesome! Did you see the lions near the pan? We watched them for an hour. Impressive! Going to the toilet is crazy in Etosha. You have to open a big gate so you are not safe when you get out of the car. I was terrified. You?

Amazing scenery. I'm just curious what the protocol is if by chance your vehicle breaks down in the park. I'm guessing you don't just start walking. Do they occasionally patrol the park so that they would eventually find you. Or do you have to wait for another park visitor to come upon you and catch a ride with them?
@gregvierra61417 жыл бұрын
Cactus Tweeter Great question ... Nicole?
@elissawessels24947 жыл бұрын
Cactus Tweeter This is a very popular park in Namibia so there is always a lot of people in the park. Usually there is also an emergency number you can call.
@NicoleEddy17 жыл бұрын
Cactus Tweeter Exactly what Elissa said. It's a busy park so there are people driving past you quite frequently, even on the quieter side roads. But generally for more remote parks, you hope you have the right tools to fix the problem or have a satellite phone to call an emergency number.

You are right about the Halali camp, it's expensive in comparison with other campsites that are less expensive so the quality of the facilities should be higher than that. Very sad.
@muhammadkara87367 жыл бұрын
Kruger facilities are detoreriating though, the chalets and rondavels bathrooms haven't been renovated since I was a kid , and for the amount of money Sanparks charges it's pathetic , sometimes the fridges and stoves don't work as well I really hope the situation changes , can only imagine what etosha is like.

Nicole and Ben, what would have happened if you said "yes" to having a drone??? Would they have confiscated it or charged you a fee? Thanks.
@NicoleEddy17 жыл бұрын
Chris Brooks We're not sure, it's not welcome in any National Parks for the fear of locating animals like rhino or elephant from above & using it as a device to aid poaching, so if we're not planning on using it, it's just a lot less hassle than trying to explain that we have it for recreational use & risk it getting confiscated etc.

I think your criticisms of the facilities is warranted, the whole point of entry fees is for the maintenance of the park, yeah? That *should* include simple things such as cleaning toilets and what not.
@crystalbaker73257 жыл бұрын
Can't help but laugh when those bathroom facilities are actually better than where I used to live.
@ajgere93497 жыл бұрын
how would photographing/filming out of the back of Pumba be illegal? (seriously curious about this. saw Ben's vlog and didn't understand)
@NicoleEddy17 жыл бұрын
So in National Parks where there are wild animals, there are certain rules & regulations. Obviously that involves not getting out of the car, but in a lot of parks one cannot have their bodies out of the car or hang out of windows which is essentially what the lens would be doing. The animals cannot see the humans in the car, they just see the car as a object however when humans stick their heads out or body parts out of windows, they can the see individuals & we then become a threat to them which can result in defensive behaviour from the animals.
@ajgere93497 жыл бұрын
Nicole Eddy that helps me understand better! I guess I never really thought about it like that. Well, incredible work from both of you. I'm super excited to see new vlogs and photographs 💕
@indylaura997 жыл бұрын
Do you carry something for protection from wildlife? Like pepper spray? I would be afraid to just walk around with lions and critters that could kill me. ,😮
@NicoleEddy17 жыл бұрын
Laura Misch Nah, the camp was fenced off but generally the wild animals will run off long before you see them (in most cases) except the ones that have learnt that humans carry food around.
