Great to see clips from one of my favorite films of 1941 - The Sea Wolf. I'd love to see Alexander Knox's flubs from that as well as the ones we got from Edward G and John Garfield.

@frannyzooey11 A previous comment from seckinger5000: "To answer an earlier question: the couple in the water are Jane Wyman & Ronald Reagan in Tugboat Annie Sails Again (1940) directed by Lewis Seiler ("Now look, Seiler, I gotta see if you don't mind!")" Sounds good to me. :)

@nicoley132
@nicoley132 13 жыл бұрын
@jadecameron Haha, everyone seems to like and ask about that one. Here's a nice explanation from looneywoman in an earlier comment: :o) "...looks like a scene from "Four Mothers." The blond on the platform is definitely Priscilla, next to Eddie Albert, the poor girl who slides in is the one whose character is married to Eddie's in the film (most likely Rosemary), and the man waiting in the background with the bags is probably Jeffrey Lynn, who played Priscilla's hubbie in the film."

He was one of the handsomest men in Hollywood, no doubt about it. But, I think the "visually compelling" - thing can distract from the reality of someone's dramatic talent. I can get past the static posture, but he always sounded like he was reading a cue card to me--and like he had trouble reading!
@nicoley132

Yeah. He's never really moved me in any of his dramatic scenes. I think he was fine in straight and some comic scenes. I wouldn't call him a great actor, but I'm not sure I'd say "lousy" either. ;)
