My dad's hero. He was like one of the family. I had the pleasure of seeing him at the Palladium '76 and '77 when I 16yrs old. Pure class.

They just don't have quality stars of yesterday in large quantities. There will never be another time. We're lucky that we lived, when they did. Thanks for posting and sharing videos.

The Untouchable Bing, he was a great singer/entertainer and so worthy of “Star” status unlike a large proportion of today’s so called singers. Many thanks for sharing this Timeless gem. 8/4/2019 🇬🇧

I am impressed that Bing would do a modern song about peace and love and against hatred, with a peace sign behind him onstage maybe in an effort to reach out to the young people and their parents at a time of divisiveness about the Viet Nam war, racism, women's movement. etc. Did he really believe in what he was singing? Who knows for sure....but at least he made an effort in this moment instead of bitching about young people all the time, like so many did. NO, I am not talking about his alleged personal life here. Why isn't anyone doing this now?

He likely did - he was a firm believer in civil rights, legalization of marijuana and if I recall correctly was against the Vietnam conflict. He was old school so he didn’t wade into political waters publicly. He did frequently cover modern songs (he does a nice job with You’ve Got a Friend) and had modern artists on his programs. Check out his performance with The Supremes as a good example!

Nicoley--HOW to privately message you? I looked at seemingly every avenue. My question was: There used to be on KZbin (don't know if it was your post)....but there was Bing on "Holiday Inn," singing, "I've Got Plenty to be Thankful For." I'm sure it was pulled due to a black maid was nearby in the kitchen, encouraging him to try to see the love he had lost....so Fred Astaire wouldn't be "getting her." Anyway, it's the ONE OF FEW Thanksgiving tunes, and it was quaint, a fire going, and his help pushing him to eat and to be more bold. Do you have it to post? A million thanks if you can or have it. It has been removed from KZbin. I've searched high and low.
