Let’s not forget the SCDF rescuers who have families of their own, going into the dark chest-deep waters under unsecured crumbling building structures, at a short notice with complete disregard of their own safety…

SCDF is so important! I am glad to learn that you still look back and learn from the past. Please consider forming a special task force together with the neighbours to help eachothers with any serious incidents, such as fires, floodings, earthquakes, building collapses. The aim may be to provide instant help and assistance unconditionally and regardless the location and background. It would also help to foster good neighbourhood relations, and increase trust of people.
