I have a 2 door 1950 FORD SHOEBOX that was my dad's! He got it out of OLK. , he said their was a shop there and all the do is 50 SHOEBOX'S? And it show's it know what their doing in their build! Mine sits on a all tube frame , 4 Link 9 in FORD Rear with a full tube and full roll cage and most the front end came out of like 80's Camero not sure but it's real tight like a vet thouth! To run this BLACK BEAST they built a ALL STEAL 388 STROKER WITH 2 KIT'S OF NOS with a track built 3 speed Auto. And will make you PISS YOURSELF IF IT STICKS! POP use to call it his MINI - MERC! It still sit's in the same shop and hasn't moved since 2012 , i've put about 500 miles on it since he passed. And at 7 mpg and here in TENN it's almost 5 bucks a galllon it well be there until 2024 or i make my own? Any who I wrote this to honer the OL'MAN and to show the man had class that likes to go real fast! " I LOVE AND MISS YOU POP'S , AND RIP! love from " that dam boy of mine"! and thanks!

super cool build. the 50 body looks great
@Joeleesander2 жыл бұрын
Also woulda been cool to run the dash from the 50, and a Dakota Digital made for the shoebox, and hooked to the Mustangs OBD2 port. Not inexpensive by any means.
@supersport19862 жыл бұрын
Really probably could put the 50s dash in take the mustang dash shell out and make mounts to hold anything of importance and cut the 50s dash to fit the mustang cluster and hide the ac controls below the dash and put the radio somewhere that's kinda out of sight but still functional would really make it over the top! Such an awsome project gives a guy ideas that I can't afford lol

If not as said then raise up mustang dash. It doesn't look right. Got to bring rear tires in. Hope your going to paint.
@timwegman57762 жыл бұрын
@@wmrmartin9801 yes I agree I really think he should have gone the distance and cut the fire wall behind the dash some more and brought the whole car down some more

Do appreciate the amount of work it takes , when people see 30k and up for mods like this one , its the work of detail making one of a kind . Suspensions are light years ahead from the 50s dynamics .

Will be one awesome ride, being you can't put some hugh tires inside the rear fenders without redoing the frame and narrowing the axles which would have been nice but alot of work and expense, but myself I'd run a narrow tire stock height in the front, but it's your ride it's going to be fine what ever you have in mind, can't wait to see the finish., 👍🇺🇸

@CR76592 жыл бұрын
I tried to do a swap like this years ago with a Chevy and was I to do it again I would retain the rear wheel doghouses from the chassis donor. Using the ones on the body you lose wheel clearance if you have to drop the body relative to the donor pans.
