The door is on! In this video, I build a ledged and framed barn sized door with a smaller door housed inside. The frame is built with traditional mortise and tenon joinery which the shiplap boards are attached to. The door is held in place by huge 42” strap hinges. As usual, most of the work is done with hand tools.

I made the saw, but it’s not my design. Checkout Blackburn Tools. They sell parts and plans for frame saws and also have a video on how to build them. www.blackburntools.com/new-tools/media-and-related/dvd-build-your-own-classic-frame-saws/index.html

Am I right that the floor went in between last video and this one? I am interested to know how you did it. I.e. Is it tongue and groove structural floorboards? face nailed? And did you make them or buy them? Awesome work by the way, I'm very inspired to build something similar 😊
@NicTaylorWoodworking
@NicTaylorWoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, it’s tongue and grove. I actually purchased ready made stuff from a local lumber yard. Didn’t seem quite exciting enough for a video. Cheers!
