জন্ম তার তাঁতিপাড়ায়। তাঁতের শব্দের সঙ্গেই বেড়ে উঠা তার। ছোটবেলায়ই মায়ের সঙ্গে করেছেন সুতো বোনার কাজ। সিরাজগঞ্জের শাহজাদপুরের পাটখোলা গ্রামের তাঁতিপাড়া থেকে উঠে আসা সেই মেয়েটাই এখন বাংলাদেশে মেয়েদের ফুটবল নিয়ে স্বপ্ন বোনার অন্যতম কারিগর।
বলছি, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় নারী ফুটবল দলের ডিফেন্ডার আঁখি খাতুনের কথা। ৫ ফুট ৬ ইঞ্চি লম্বা মেয়েটা শুধু উচ্চতায় নয়, শারীরিক শক্তিতেও দলের অন্যদের চেয়ে এগিয়ে। উচ্চতা বেশি হওয়ায় আঁখির ‘হেড ওয়ার্ক’ দারুণ। লম্বা পায়ে ট্যাকলগুলো হয় নিখুঁত, পজিশন জ্ঞান প্রখর। সবচেয়ে ভালো গুণ, নিচ থেকে দুই উইংয়ে মাপা এরিয়াল পাস দিয়ে আক্রমণ তৈরি করতে পারেন। প্রয়োজন মতো নিজেও দ্রুত উপরে উঠে যেতে পারেন। রক্ষণভাগে খেললেও তাই পুরো মাঠ জুড়েই থাকে তার পদচারণা। প্রতিপক্ষের গোল রুখে দেয়ার পাশপাাশি নিজেও গোল করতে পারেন।
২০০৩ সালের ১৮ জুন সিরাজগঞ্জের শাহজাদপুর উপজেলার পাড়কোল গ্রামে জন্ম আঁখির। বাবা আক্তার হোসেন তাঁতশ্রমিক। আর মা নাসিমা বেগম বোনেন সুতো। জীর্ণ ঘরে থেকেই বড় ফুটবলার হওয়ার স্বপ্ন বাসা বাঁধে আঁখির চোখে। পাড়কোলা সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে পড়াকালে ফুটবল দলে নাম লেখান আঁখি। শাহজাদপুর ইব্রাহিম বালিকা বিদ্যালয়ের হয়ে ২০১৪ সালে বঙ্গমাতা গোল্ডকাপ খেলে সবার নজর কাড়েন। ওই বছরই ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হয়ে বিকেএসপিতে ভর্তি হন।
২০১৫ সালে তাজিকিস্তানে এএফসি অনূর্ধ্ব-১৪ আঞ্চলিক ফুটবল চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে প্রথম দেশের হয়ে খেলেন আঁখি। ২০১৭ সালে সাফ অনূর্ধ্ব-১৫ নারী ফুটবল চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয় বাংলাদেশ। ওই টুর্নামেন্টে সেরা খেলোয়াড় নির্বাচিত হয়ে জিতেন গোল্ডেন বুট। ২০১৮ সালে সাফ অনুর্ধ্ব-১৮ চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপেও হয়েছেন সেরা খেলোয়াড়।
২০১৮ সালে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় নারী ফুটবল দলে অভিষেক হয় আঁখির। এ পর্যন্ত ১১টি আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ খেলে করেছেন ৩ গোল। বিভিন্ন বয়সভিত্তিক জাতীয় দলের জার্সিতেও ১৩-১৪টি গোল আছে তার।
বাংলাদেশে নারী ফুটবলের জাগরণে যেমন রাখছেন অবদান, তেমনি ফুটবল খেলে পরিবারেরও দিন বদলে দিয়েছেন আঁখি খাতুন। মেয়েকে নিয়ে তাই গর্বের শেষ নেইবাবা আক্তার হোসেনের।
দেশের নারী ফুটবল সাফল্যের সারথী আঁখিকে তিন দফায় ১৫ লাখ টাকা উপহার দিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। ব্যবস্থা করে দিয়েছেন স্থায়ী জমির। ফুটবল তাকে অনেক কিছু দিয়েছে, সেই ফুটবলে দেশকে আরো সাফল্য এনে দিতে চান আঁখি খাতুন।

Akhi was born on 16 June 2003 in the village of Parkola in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj. Father Akhter Hossain is a weaver. And mother Nasima Begum is housewife. The dream of becoming a big footballer from a dilapidated house is built in the eyes of Akhi. Akhi enrolled in the football team while studying at Parkola Government Primary School. Bangamata Gold Cup was played in 2014 for Shahjadpur Ibrahim Girls School. She passed the admission test in the same year and got admitted in BKSP.
Akhi became the first country to play in the 2015 AFC U-14 Regional Football Championship in Tajikistan. In 2016, Bangladesh became the champion in the SAF Under-15 Women's Football Championship. The best player in that tournament was selected and won the Golden Boot. In 2016, he also became the best player in the SAF Under-16 Championship.
Ankhir made her debut in the Bangladesh national women's football team in 2016. So far he has scored 3 goals in 11 international matches. He also has 13-14 goals in national team jerseys based on different ages.
