The video was made for the band by Wargaming as promotion for their World of Warships game. Sabaton wrote and recorded this song as a thank you for their fans for 20 years of support. It isn't on any of their albums but only released as a single. Sabaton also has a channel "Sabaton History" where they do a deepdive into the history behind their songs as their songs are all about actual events (battles and heroes .. from Ancient Greece to the First Iraq war)

The Battleship Bismarck was the largest ship under the Germany’s navy during world war 2. Named after Otto Von Bismarck who was the Chancellor who united Germany together.

But you are right to some degree: people talking about the Bismarck and calling her the largest one, while forgetting about her sister ship Tirpitz are also wrong.

@Amirus No, that's not true. Captain Lindemann demanded in a popular speech, that everyone, including his crew, shall refer to the Bismarck as "he". That's were this nonsense is coming from. Newspapers, yes, even German High Command at the time, refered to the ship as a "she", because all ships are female in German. The crew of the Prince Eugen also called it a "she" during the battle with the Hood and Prince of Wales. Always referd as "he" is wrong. Remove "always" and it's less wrong. Bismarck's original ship christening happend as a "she". There were some older ships of the Kaiserliche Kriegsmariene in WW1, that were indeed original named as male ships. Blücher, Admiral Hipper, Admiral Graf Spee are some that I remember. This was the tradition, Captain Lindemann wanted to bring back to life, because Bismarck was to powerful to be called female... But even these ships are called "she" today, because female names for German ships was finally abandoned. edit: I had to change "Admiral Lütjens" to "Captain Lindemann", because he was the one who did it.

the bismark sank the hms hood (the mightiest battleship of the british empire) in 3 minutes of fight, after a penetrating hit midship. an anti-air shell magazin was hit and exploded, breaking the ship litterally apart.

Bismarck was a WW2 German Battleship that had a dramatic battle with the British before sinking. It sunk the British cruiser Hood with 1 shell. Sabaton is a band I really like, all their songs are tied to history. Here is a fun video of Babymetal with Joakim Broden of Sabaton as guest. Sound is good, but not a pro shot video. @@nielsensTVDK At the start of the war the Royal Navy used Fairey Swordfish on their carriers, which were biplanes, and one of them disabled the Bismarck's rudder which led to her demise. Joakim's baritone and Su's soprano really contrast well. Sabaton opened for Babymetal a few times. Really good band.

Most everything Sabaton does is about an actual battle or outstanding soldier from history. If you are wanting to check out more from them I would suggest "40:1" "Screaming eagles" "Feilds of Verdun" "Primo Victoria" do the lyrics version with this one. The video is epic but the sound effects from the tank in it are pretty distracting for a first time listen. "Ghost division" There are MANY more excellent songs in their arsenal but I think these are some good ones to start with anyway. If you have any questions about the subject matter of the songs after hearing them then I would highly suggest checking out their history channel on KZbin.
