Towards the end of my trophy hunting, all I had left was the one that takes you into Emil's cave. As this song played, I reflected on all the things that I'd experienced until that point, (through Nier and Automata both). And then I thought about what I was about to do, with the final ending I needed to acquire the platinum, and how I really didnt want to. Then when it all hit me, and I realized that after I accomplished my current goal it would all be over, I actually broke down. No game has ever had that kind of power over me, and invoked such an emotional response. I freaking love everything about Nier and Nier Automata, and I'm about to start a new full playthrough, a new annual tradition. If I had my choice, I would die to this song.

I only hope for the sequel but from what I've read so far, we have no guarantees that it will be made, even with the good sales. It's a shame for me and those who played Automata first: I'll always love this game more than Nier. It's more like an independent story after all.

I dont want to play anything else but I also dont want to play this again, it's like I dont want to ruin my precious first playthrough. When I heard this song while reading devola and popolas notes I almost cried, it's something about the music and the characters of this game that evoke so much emotion in me that its unexplainable, it's like I get a pit in my stomach everytime I think about it. *minor side quest spoiler* think I remember hearing this song first when I completed Engels' questline. I remember being strangely crushed by it's death. A weapon of absolute mass destruction, aware of it's sins, choosing death as a form of punishment and repentance. Such a noble being... I really respected this machine, talking to it felt like talking to an old monk, aware of all evil in the world, simply looking for a moment of peace. I realised how much I liked Engels only after it's death. I then hacked a robot and just had a long, slow walk through the city while controlling it, with this song in the background... a really beautiful moment.

I commented on this exact quest as well. What really hit me was, after the light in his eyes fade away, reading through his journal with this song. I recall a note of himself, sitting there destroyed in the pouring rain, and a little bird landed on his shoulder. He made a special note of it so he'd never forget it. It also mentioned how much he came to love the life on earth. Reading that with this music, I couldn't stop crying for a while... What a beautiful, perfect experience. Thank you, Yoko Taro. @@firstnamelastname4686 No its not their shitty attitude?? they were overpowered by the party + Emil being quite literally the BEST biological weapon in existence, think about it this way, Devola and Popola unironically have a proportional power stronger than weiss, since sealed verses come from Devola and Popola in the first place, and EVEN AFTER Popola launches her all out attack, Emil was able to 1.- Shield and send the others to safety, 2.- Make Popola die in the process, AND 3.- SURVIVE THE HIT *LMFAO* Not only that, but they're also performers, so them dancing while fighting is accurate, its not that one of them is literally doing nothing, in fact, the sister dancing in the background constantly shoots magic spheres, but also has a secret move they only use after a LONG while, (which 99% of people dont get to see because the bossfight is so easy and short, idk why they didnt make it harder) It's okay if you don't like Devola and Popola, but don't go blaming them for humanity's extinction, in fact, the description of Nier's attire wearable by A2 in NieR Automata, says, and I quote "An outfit for A2 that may or may not have belonged to the man who destroyed the world.", so yeah, even the developers admit Nier is to blame here.
@cyb81282 жыл бұрын
@@ryukiiko They raised Nier though, and alternatively led him onto the path that destroyed humanity. The whole point of the story is that not one person can exactly be blamed. Random, but the quest where you revive and speak to the fallen Goliath class in the city ruins, Engel, I believe, hit me so hard with this. At the end, he says he realizes what it was meant to "sin", and realizes all of the agony and sorrow he has caused the androids, the amount of people he has killed. He is dying, and when offered repairs, he declines, and instead wishes for 2B and 9S to use his parts elsewhere, for good. His lights in his eyes fade out, and this song plays. Opening his journal and reading his thought's as he sat there, disconnected from the network. Reading how a little bird landed on his shoulder in the rain, and how much he came to love the life on Earth, all while this song plays... Goodness. I adore this game beyond imagination. When you understand all the events that lead up to the point where everything fell apart for Project Gestalt and - ultimately - the extinction of humanity, the pain in this song grows in depth. --- --- --- --- From the moment all these events began, humanity was doomed - their struggle for survival was a death march toward the inevitable, but it was carried by hope and the innate desire to endure as a species. Humanity worked tirelessly to overcome, but when everything fell apart its existence was snuffed out into silence. A species that had long prided itself on it's intellectual ability was undone by it. The story of Humanity's downfall was a tragedy; the way in which it happened was an irony. However, it's spirit was still finding it's way into the machines that were designed by the aliens - thousands of years later - the machines chose humanity over their creators - and killed them. A species that had superior intellectual ability was undone by it. --- --- --- ---

So when the players finale fail to stop the Big Bad Guy... when he finally tears opens the veil to bring in a new age, one where time will no longer exist, where in his demented mind no one will suffer any longer... there was no better track to play. The players watched as the rift broke open, the earth itself begging to tear as the fabric of the world that once was dissolved away... And all they could do was watch... it was over. Here's hoping nobody reads this. Just a few minutes ago I almost swallowed a metric fuck-ton of Bupropion in an effort to commit suicide. I don't know why I felt the need to talk about this in a comment on a video with less than 100,000 views, but here we are. NieR: Automata is very important to me. It helped me realize a lot of things about myself, like what I want to do, what my purpose in life was, shit like that. Engel's death was one of the most impactful things I experienced in that game. He talked about realizing his sins and atoning for them. He talked about how he realized beauty in the nature around him. He is my favorite character in Automata. When he died, this song played. It stuck with me. I listen to this song when I feel like shit, because it helps as a way to cope. I realized a while ago that I wanted to die to this music. And so I put it on and took the cap off the pill bottle. I was about to swallow well over 50,000 mg of Bupropion. And my sister walked in. She didn't see the pills. She just said hi and left. I believe she saved me. I don't know why I wrote this. I guess I just want to let people know about something that doesn't concern them. Sorry.
@Harpotos3 жыл бұрын
I still check the comments on this video every now and then. Reading yours left me with a void in my heart, but I am so thankful that you didn't go through with it. Bless your sister and bless you. Remember the ending credits when you could help another random player for the cost of your save? It stuck with me so strongly. I feel like that simple gesture along with the optimistic look at the human condition is super strong. Despite all the bad things that happen, we really value helping each other. Sometimes something as simple as overcoming a temporary, yet strong emotional pain, is enough of a sacrifice to make a huge difference. You are valued and you have so much potential to influence others lives in a positive way, even if you may not feel like that is true at the lowest of lows. I personally have a hard time understanding why people want to spend time with me because I can't always see anything but my negative sides. Still I stick in there because I know me being happy makes those around me happy and I am starting to feel slow, yet sure progress. I don't know what you're going through, but I really hope that you find your way to deal with it and the strength to ask for help. My heart goes out to you, stay strong.

You come to, lying on the forest floor. Dying, perhaps. You can't move a muscle, but it doesn't seem to matter much. It's not quite dawn, and a thick fog covers the ground, obscuring your vision. There are no birds calling, no sounds of warm blooded life. Everything seems to be muted by the haze. Squinting, you can make out the trees rising from the mist around you, and a faint whisper coming from far away. No, it's coming from everywhere. You consider being scared, attempting to run, but the chanting voices sound so sweet you close your eyes instead, listening. They don't sound human, but they're not animal either. Are they calling to you? You want to go find the source, but you're tired. You lay your head back as the whispers grow nearer, surrounding you. You don't know what's going to happen to you, but the song assures you that the end will be pleasant.

I can’t imagine what is like to failed your creator. Not only that, but also doomed the entirety of humanity. I cannot imagine the weight of the guilt Devola and Popola have to bear for millennia. I can imagine what is like to lose someone you loved so suddenly. I can imagine the sanity of 9S slowly slipping away from loneliness. Either way, it suck they have to endure through those.

It's because it's in chaos language. It DOES NOT have any translation. So.. Sorry, but your quest to translate this song is impossible. Unless you understand chaos. In my opinion it's good that it have no translation. It can be literally everything.

@@Darkwave16712 In some way yes, they are. They had meaning. This game shows how we, people, take sides. In Automata there is no good or bad side. Just two different points of view that lead to bloodshed. That something based on human nature can be chaotic in their wake. Just like that... And without Adam and Eve, without aliens experimentations and tries of understanding humans nothing of that would not happen. Earth would be "meaningless" planet with vegetation. And yet here we are... Adam and Eve tried to understand, to copy human kind, that was extint. They tried to feel something more than their creators so they... Killed them. To find out what emotions are. They found enemies just to feel. They wrongly understood humans but... How we can blame them? All they could do is read and find infos... Where we, as humans, left mostly brutal things than beautifull ones... When we look at our history, our behave... It all lead to bloodshed. Sad, but true. So they "inherited" it in some way. They was like poor childrens, learning bad things. That's all. Funny that history like to repeat itself... There is war after war after war.... And after another war... Mighty will never look at poor as they thought. So they stood and tried to become mighty...

When i finished Nier: Automata, i felt empty. For a long time no other Game was fun anymore. There is no Game i am aware of out there, that comes close to something like Nier: Automata. The combat felt nice and stylish. The Soundtrack is stunning. The Graphics and the World are breathtaking. The only downside this Game has, is that it has to end eventually. I am a Nier fan and i love the Drakengard series. But something about Nier: Automata just makes me feel better. It is a World i can come to, when Real Life gets to Hard. I can ease my Mind and just enjoy the Songs by the Jukebox in the Resistance Camp or sit on top of a Building, enjoying the View. I hope that we will, at some point. Get a few more Good Offline Games like the Nier or Drakengard series. Maybe more God Eaters and Code Vein 2. Maybe even Remakes of the Drakengard Games. (Because Remakes seem to be popular right now) but to be honest, i am still playing Nier: Automata till this day. And i still enjoy every single moment. This Game is my 10/10 Game of all time and i hope we will see more Characters like 2B, 9S, A2 or a faction like YoRHa in the future. But what i really wish for is, that we at some Point get a true ending Nier title. One last Game to finish the series once and for all. And then maybe something new again from Yoko Taro. A new Masterpiece Series from him would be awesome.

Besides this is not the song when plays on the moment that i efer, with this music... i Can hear 2B voice crying while she saying: "bunker's gone. There is no point in buckup anymore". This song is so beautiful... Docile, gentle... But very sad, lonely, and emocional. This song makes tears every time that i hear that.... This song is pure pain and emptiness..... This song means that all the hope is lost away. And you are so tired in living to feel anything. That is the point when pain dont hurt anymore.....
