There are a really no true lyrics! The primary vocalist Emi Evans and Keiichi Okabe created a fake phonetic "language" so that they could use vocals, without them having any lyrical aspect. It's sort of an analog to Nier's themes: the lyrics for the vocals are inherently meaningless, so why do we love them and the place in the performance so much?

Haha that's exactly what I wanted to answer! That's why NieR is so special. I really like how it sounds like a real language, forgotten, lost in the past. The lyrics touch me, even if I can't understand them, this is so beautifully made. I also love the fact that it's a mix of multiple languages, which make it a language of world of sort! Are you French? Nier's language does sound a bit like French! I think this song is my favourite of the entire game (or in the top 3), I don't know why exactly, but it just stood out to me, so hearing a cover is awesome! No, it's a made up language specially made for the game! It's a mix of multiple languages, so it's normal you hear a bit of German!
