The first essay of the Genealogy. This is mostly a set-up to the argument in the second essay, which we will tackle in the next part. It will sound familiar to anyone who has read (or watched our video series on) Beyond Good and Evil and Daybreak. Still, it's worth taking a closer look. Where does morality come from? Nietzsche dives into history and tries to formulate an answer.

How interesting that everyone forgets about Aurora, when I have seen how central it is for Nietzsche, he even declares "his doctrine" in this book.

The title itself perplexes me. Good vs Evil Good vs Bad. Seems curious to me. Does he ever delineate the purpose of the using "bad," and "evil," opposed to good? He never wastes a comma.

In German the difference is more pronounced. Hard to render in English

It's weird how power is used synonymously with dominate. Surely he understood the power of co-opperation?

The FOX in Aesop's fable is NOT a proper example of ressentiment, because the fox still admires sweet grapes. Once the fox says that sweet grapes are bad anyway and all sweet things are bad, then the fox has fully commited to ressentiment.
