@@beastmasterbg It‘s an edgy quote for people who are afraid to be disappointed (=hurt). Healthy, mature people do have hope. And they accept the pain that comes with negative outcomes. Loser don‘t have hope/positive expectation in order to not get hurt in the end. That‘s avoidance and that‘s a sign of mentally weak people.

@@Chrisko1492 I think he meant this by that quote. That there are two forms of Nihilism active and inactive. And that inactive nihilism is doing nothing and "hoping" everything will turn out great. But Nietzsche thinks we have to choose to do nothing and "hope". Or lose "hope" and do something about it. The context of that sentence also really depends on what you see as "hope".

I think its more towards Greatness being total acceptance of what you are right now, anything in your future can be deemed fate/destiny ,thus its more important people accept their present situation(and however it evolves) and once you can accept the present you have achieved greatness. Very important when social media makes everyone question self-worth

ive heard a lot about this concept of surrender - it’s the only spiritual and/or philosophical concept that i really struggle to integrate in my life. im a visionary - i can see things so clearly, and understand why they must be as they are, and where they’re leading. but in my own life, going thru my own ups and downs as we all do, i get so frustrated, and i feel stuck.

So what do we do in with these obstacles? Accept that reality has certain rules that we must follow?
@abby999
@abby999 2 жыл бұрын
@@sebastiancalvin8434 when we believe something to be an obstacle, it’s as though we have written our own rules for our own reality - often without realizing it. so basically, when we perceive something as an obstacle, that’s what it becomes. you could also say that, without realizing it, we allow our own perceptions to shape our own reality. for example, i was in a minor accident just over a month ago, and i broke my left wrist. i had never broken a bone before this, so it was pretty surreal. i wrote that last comment about understanding that i was standing in my own way right before this incident, so by the time i broke my wrist, i had enough clarity to immediately realize that 1. this was always going to happen this way, and 2. it was happening for me, not to me. this perspective could be called trust, patience, or surrender. really accepting that the nature of our conscious mind is solely intended for the present moment is to also accept that we are not in control of the big picture and of how things shake out.

In my opinion, there is a fairly common and mistaken belief that the Nietzschean Übermensch is someone who has achieved greatness through learning and self-improvement. If someone adheres to "amor fati," it means that they know who they are and fully accept it. This can apply to all people, both those who are eager for greatness and those who are not interested in great deeds and would like to spend their lives in a different way. Accepting oneself also means accepting all past and future actions and their consequences because they resulted from who one was and led to who one is and will someday be. There is no point in regretting anything. Such a person does not want to be someone else, so they are always in harmony with themselves, which provides psychological balance. In my opinion, this is how the idea of the Übermensch should be understood. It is a person who, if given the choice, would not want a different life but would repeat the one they have lived.

JUST DO IT! JUUUUUST! DO! IT! Don't think. Do it! Take 5 minutes. It's crazy what ppl do to not ever make the first step. You get better with time so it's obvious at start it's hard, confusing, unknown but also exciting. Hope by Nietzsche is fooling oneself with excuses, magnifying difficulties, fearing all unknown possibilities. Taking action, trying just by the act alone makes things brighter, clearer and easier. And true "hope" is objective optimism. Understanding that you know what path you take and what awaits on the end. Understanding the process of going there is worthwhile and making you. Taking action against odds adding courage to act in general. Going all way back when comprehending own error being even bigger courage & lesson. Accepting it is what it is shuts up the monkey brain. Like Caesar who burned ships after landing with army to focus 100% on the road before him without second thoughts. And Caesar again who was making many mistakes but ALWAYS learnt from each one of them being grateful for the wisdom pain granted him. Pain is the teacher. Telling it everyday exercising or taking freezing shower. Accept pain teachings. Accept uneasy things necessary being uneasy and necessary.

While doing any work *intensely* does it decrease critical thinking ability? Because I have heard emotion is inversely proportional to critical thinking. Many people says that you have to do Ur work with outmost Passion and intense feel. So I got doubt will that intense focus will reduce critical thinking in that moment?

Maybe saying that we should accept our fate is a kind of paradoxical statement that derives from the same source as the idealism. Does accepting to not be able to fully accept our fate belong to this too?
@horea.szedlacsek

What Nietzsche might have got wrong is the enthusiasm underlying this amor fati, hugging fate. Enthusiasm can be understood as "to be in the possession of god". Now, if you're in the possession of an evil god this equates to living a wrong life. Finding the right god, the right path, the right idea for you it's a personal merit and it's not predetermined as Nietzsche suggests, perhaps not without bitter cynicism. And this "equation of fate" probably has more than one solution.

This is almost the opposite from what I hear from Earl Nightingale. He promotes the idea that humans are meant to go from project to project. Finding a new reason to continue. A captain of a ship always knows exactly where he is going. This seems very different in that we should love where we are in order to become more? I think I totally misread the meaning here. Can someone clarify or give their thoughts?

I have been holding the same approach to a problem. Yet, you miss some link brother. Why would learning lead to power? You mention that when learning the cause-effect of some events, we can prevent them from happening a second time. While it is true (mostly in natural world of science), it can misdirect us into delusion, especially we cling to the learning outcome. The social world is wicked which contains a lot of learning from trillion of events that are knitted into one final event (which we see in real time). Considering our past learning of similar event may succumb us into delusion and it is hence not a power. Nevertheless, the power you mention is only short-lived and it needs continual seed of insight from other learning outcomes.

I don't really like Nietzsche, just how things work on paper but not in reality, this doesn't sit well with me. Someone shouldn't live by this as advice for all decisions (but for some yes). If we accept and love our fate all our lives, we'll never achieve raising our standards of living. If minorities accepted their fate to be oppressed by their oppressors, they would've never achieve progress for equality. If we accepted and love our fate to depend on someone, we would never achieve freedom and independence to fully express ourselves. So its great to accept and love fate, but there's always room for changing who you really are for the better.
