(spot round counselling eligibility criteria from latest notification of NIFT 2025)
WHO CAN REGISTER FOR SPOT ROUND OF SEAT ALLOTMENT
All the Eligible candidates having Common Merit Rank (CMR)
Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in previous rounds of Seat Allotment.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat in 1st to 4th Round but not have paid the fee
The candidates who have been allotted a seat and freezed in previous rounds
Candidates who have been withdrawn the seat allotted in previous rounds of Seat Allotment.
Candidates who became ineligible during document verification due to non- submission of valid Category Certificate and now they have a valid Category Certificate as per the Admissions Guidelines.
Candidates with valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) who have not registered for Seat Allotment and/or not filled in preference / choice filling & not uploaded the required documents during the registration for Seat Allotment.
All the Eligible Candidates having Common Merit Rank under NLEA (Lateral Entry Admission)
NOTE:
Seat Confirmed Candidates: These types of candidates will be allowed to participate in SPOT round counselling and choice modification. Such candidates, if participate, will be processed in seat allocation. For such candidates, allotted choice and choices, which has better preferences than allotted choices, will be processed.
In this round, these candidates may be allotted a new seat out of the choice preferences given above previously allotted seat. In case new seat is allotted then their earlier allotted seat will be forfeited; and new seat will be confirmed. In case no new seat is allotted then their earlier allotted seat would be retained; however, their allotted seat category may be upgraded as per business rules.
WHO ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REGISTER FOR SPOT ROUND SEAT ALLOTMENT
Candidates who have applied for admission to NIFT through the following modes:
Candidates who have been rejected during the process of document verification
due to not fulfilling the eligibility criteria OR not having the VALID Category Certificate.
Artisan Category
Pure NRI candidates admitted based on SAT/GMAT/GRE Score..
Design logue the only institute where all the teaching Faculty are alumni of Nift NID or IIT
Admission open For NIFT NID IIT (UCEED CEED preparation) 2025-26

Sir, mera rank bhi accha tha but mujhe seat allotment nhi hua aur documents verification k time pr discrepancy nhi nikal payi toh mujhe regular rounds ke liye not eligible bataya toh spot round m part le skti hu kya???

I got seat for textile designing kannur but i wanted fashion communication in kannur , so shall I withdraw my seat and sit for spot round counselling? My CMR is 2000 , is there any chance of getting f.c?

Please don’t withdraw your seat hoping you’ll a better seat in spot round. There are chances you might just loose this seat you have currently

@@parul_garg777 i emailed nift to enquire if it is compulsory for me to withdraw my seat to participate in spot round and they replied saying I should withdraw my seat inorder to participate for Spot round. So I replied asking if I can retain my current seat and also participate for Spot round then they replied yes I can , so I'm just confused if I can or not🥲

@@HeheheheHehehehe-zk7ux last year I had doubts with my admission form and if I was eligible for the tech. Course so I asked helpdesk and they said I was eligible. On reaching the campus my admissions got cancelled saying I wasn’t eligible for the course and when I explained them that helpdesk suggested me this, the authorities declined everything and said nift helpdesk is 3rd party appointed just for admission process and they don’t actually know how everything works 🥲 conclusion- I solely suffered with a loss of academic year and my money that when into shifting to a new city. If anything I’d suggest you not to listen to them. I swear I’m going around replying on aspirants comments because I would never want this to happen to any other student🥲
