Make a video of murder of iit kharakpur student (news came on 15 june) of Assam he was brutally killed multiple times stabed with knife and later shot with gun. The body was taken out of iit campus to hospital and later brought back to campus and put back in the boy's room. Parents weren't informed after 2 or 3 days his friends noticed he was missing and later discovered dead in his room. 1 how was body taken out and brought back without iit authority permission. 2 how was gun taken inside iit. 3 why iit kharakpur didn't accepted the dead body as there student (that's y unidentified body was kept on hospital floor) iit don't take any responsibility for this incident bhai iit walo ko itni v ijjat nhi dete ki marne k baad parents ko inform kr de?

At first it was reported as sucide, but after post-mortem the whole thing chnaged, the victims father pressed charges against the college and it's officials, soon after it they got offered 5cr by the college officials if he lifted the case, he denied obv. I am one of the freshers of 2023 IIT mandi , There was pre fresher event that happened , it was not like introduction it's like a prank event done by freshers , they scared us by doing some ragging (ragging was normal not so heavy but targetted some people who have not listened to seniors)and at last they told it was a prank, after revealing at last seniors performed some dances and sang some songs, in the process of performing the prank some of juniors(mainly who were targeted by seniors in prank) who are too weak got offended, we lost our precious 1st year events , freshers party because of not interacting with seniors, IIT mandi director and Dean students are so strict they won't tolerate any activities like this, even if it is a prank , we all know it was a prank but still some of our seniors got suspended one semester,72 other got fined,

I am one of the freshers of 2023. Trust me this event was not that big of a deal. The seniors are very good and accepting and always there to listen to you. They just planned this as a prank (which I accept got a bit overwhelming), but the punishment they got was in no way something they deserved. They even played songs and dance after the mixer. If you get our college in josaa, you can come to our college without tension. And after such an action, I doubt that something like this will happen again.

I m one of the freshers who was present there. And the actual story is very different. Senior only pranked freshers and called some students on stage( i am also included in some) and pretended to be angry with them...and after some time they also clarified that it was all prank and seniors also sang and danced for us . But some freshers,who thought their image is ruined in front of whole batch cause they were called on stage and scolded by seniors, they complained to Dean office. And iit mandi management is very strict in its working ,so it imposed disciplinary action on seniors . But in my opinion,it can't be called as ragging .

The event was called freshers mixer, it's held every year in the beginning. Seniors do some scripted pranks , scripted because the victims were also seniors hidden in freshers pretending to be first year student. In the prank , they impose some rules (strict ones) on first year and in the last they say it's a prank. Everyone celebrates then. Seniors also organised some performances like dance , music , drama, etc. The only mistake some seniors (maybe 2 or 3) did was using abusive language in between. This made some freshers really angry. They complaint it to the authorities. Here the problem began, all the seniors who were present as an audience (72) were fined 15k or more. The 10 students were secretaries and organisers , they were fined and expelled for a semester. People see it as justice but this was complete politics of the dean (Hitesh Shrimalli) and the authorities. There were rising resistance against administration of IIT Mandi due to degrading standards and imposition of unnecessary things on students. The disciplinary action on 72 seniors created hate between first year and every other year. The first year didn't get any freshers party , any club events, etc. Admin sent 4th yearites to another campus. This complete act was nothing but "divide and rule" by the administration. Those who speak against admin are either expelled or are under disciplinary action.

As much as i agree with you, I also think that not everybody had a such an upbringing, to handle such pranks. just the way NOVA said one should take it casual but until a certain line. if I talk about myself, I hate such pranks where they take things even a bit further. I would've reported too, but thankfully in my college days I had such wonderful seniors that I am still grateful for that. Pranks should be performed carefully keeping in mind that not every kid ( yes freshers are kids ) is from same background, some are from such humble background that they wont say a word no matter what you do to them whereas some are from such proud background that theyll mess you up even for slightest pranks, so on and so forth. but the main thing is "Seniors around the world have to learn to draw a line in there freshers pranks".

Hey guys! I am currently a final year student of BTech at IIT Mandi. I was present as a spectator in that event. This event is held every year. This happened to me in my first year, we did this with juniors in our second year too. It was basically an introductory session in a big hall. Just for a prank, the seniors act as they are ragging the students. Just ask their names. And to create an atmosphere of fear we made the students of our batch sit like juniors and threatened them and not the juniors so that the juniors feel that ragging is happening. After 15-20 minutes we just said that it is a prank, then the main event started and everyone started singing and playing games and thus the event ended. The next day 1-2 freshers felt bully at this prank event and complained to the authority. After complaining, they also realize their mistake. But the administration took it as a wrong way and suspend 72 students in which most of them are spectators like me. You can also ask these things from the first year students about what happened that day. This event is organized so that the new students can open up. If you asked about the senior junior interaction then it is very good. We ask our juniors to call us by our names. There is a very healthy relationship between juniors and seniors. All I wanted to say is that don't completely trust anything available on the internet. And select your college accordingly. 😊

Being a 2023 fresher at IIT Mandi and a part of this incident, i would like to clarify that the information conveyed in this video is not correct. I was also one of the students who was called on the stage and I clearly deny that it was something unfair. Nova said ki apne first year m ego mt rkhna, lol this whole incident was bcz of ego of some people jinhe lga ki iss event se hmari bezti hui apne batch m and they went on to complain about this to the authorities. The authorities had to take an action on the students (which they didn't deserve at all)who were participating in so called ragging bcz of 10-12 students complaining wrt to a batch of 450+ students. But nobody could reveal what actually happened that night. It was not offensive at all !! It was just a fun event planned for us(freshers). They first pranked us and then the seniors even gave us singing and dancing performances. It was nothing like ragging at all. It is completely unacceptable to spread this kind of nuisance about the event without any prior clarification. This creates a sense of fear in our juniors about IIT Mandi, but there's nothing like that at all !!

Ok my friend was one of those 72, and apparently it was genuinely nothing as much as rhey showed it. They went through that prank in their first year too, and were given a party just after it. The so called ragging was basically meant to be a prank before the celebration. So when they went to 2nd year, they planned to do the same thing with there juniors, the party was supposed to be held the night after the ragging prank night, but some of the freshers complained about it to the authorities. Now the seniors had to face a very gard punishment for nothing and obviously they weren't good to the juniors later on like their seniors were to the, they caused them so much trouble

Most people are ch*tiya in their freshman days, it's the same for every batch, your seniors were also like you. Having a healthy relation with your seniors in college lets you deal with your seniors in corporate, because most freshers don't even know how to speak properly in front of seniors. Either they cross their limits or remain too shy. Getting rid of the docile mentality is also one of the positives. P.S. I said healthy relationship, how you achieve that depends on college and person. Ragging is one of the ways to build it, there are other methods too.

I have a suggestion for every fresher who is going to join college or already joined , always prefer to stay in hostel in the beginning of your college . It will help you to open up your character, teaches you how to interact with people and handle them , you will have more network living in hostel where you will meet your seniors , those who have already walked down the path that you r going to walk. In short it will be helpful in your overall growth . I chose to live in my sisters house and decided not to join hostel because my financial situation are not that good and after three years have passed down the lane , when i look back at myself ,definitely i see a complete different person in myself but still i always have that void that i could have grown more , may be i would have more friends , memories , and lots of things you know. Last thing i would advice you that whatever path or decision you will take will ultimately shape your future , so surround yourself with people who at least acknowledge you , stand with you in your tough phase . Rest life goes on

I'm afraid that in upcoming times, kids are gonna be so fragile that even a little raise in voice and they are gonna take it as ragging, While ik the actual act of ragging is very wrong but there is a very firm line there, Kids need to understand that a random person is not going to help you out of utter kindness till he/she knows you and for knowing you interaction is necessary, they should try seeing them with the perspective of an elder brother/sister rather than bullies from the start, because they also have as much brains about right and wrong as you have. And if you think that you are going to survive in your clg (especially in IIT, NIT or IIITs) without interacting with your seniors, then boy you are about to see the most massive fall of your career at some point in those four years be it in the form of CPI or Placement.
