I made 2k from 30k by s:25400ce & b: 25550ce, I woke up late, else I would short when it broke 25570 levels itself. So, yes I thought nifty will go below 25400, rather consolidate at 25400 but went wrong.

50bps cut was largely not expected. I had anticipated 35bps. I saw the speech of FED chair taking questions from Media. The kept points are softening labour market and inflation still above the target of 200 bps still they went ahead with large cut. Elections could also be the reason. Nifty is over valued still with high PE. Money pouring in into MF and SIP and to meet returns IIs have no option except to get into market. Market will stagnate / FIIs may move out to other emerging markets Opportunity to correct the market will certainly be used
