Copied from wikipedia "In 1926, department store pioneer J. C. Penney founded the community of Penney Farms. He planned to develop an experimental farming village. The state of Florida incorporated the town in 1927. The real estate decline and stock market crash caused Penney to scale back his ambitions to a community for retired ministers in honor of his father. Today, the Penney Retirement Community is a 192-acre (0.78 km2) home to Christian laypeople as well as clergy and missionaries." Today this community is still "reserved" for retired people who served in the church ministry or mission field, who can demonstrate financial means that the community administration finds acceptable. There is a LONG waiting list (at least a year) to have an opening. My brother and his wife are on that list.

In the video you thought you remembered a field as containing JC Penny's home. Referred to as the J.C. Penny mansion, it was the "Colonial Inn" and it was one of the buildings making up the original development. In 1991, local government was going to renovate the building as a community center, but sadly, December 1999 saw the end of this gracious Penney Farms landmark. After over 60 years, the Colonial Inn was burned to the ground as a training exercise for Clay County firefighters. Perhaps if this beautiful mansion had been Penny's childhood home it might have been saved.
