I met Nigel in the Hacienda hotel and casino in Las Vegas way back 1st December 1989 when he fought Jose Quinones. My mate and I had Union Jack tee shirts with "Nigel Benn is a Geordie" on the back of it...after the fight Nigel got his manager Ambrose Mendy to invite all us Brits (most were expats living in L.A.) into his dressing room. Nigel loved mine and my mates tee shifts and offered a swap of tee shirts. He said his two best mate he served with in the British Army were Geordies. We got a shit load of photos...he is a top fella.

Different kettle of fish altogether, fella. Totally different. Benn had at least proved himself as a world-class operator and was a 2-weight world champion, he'd shown he belonged there. Eubank Jr is a massive talent, loads of potential but if he cops a bad beating from Golovkin...that could ruin him. I mean it could smash his confidence to pieces. Do we want that to happen? I don't want to see Jr go backward in his career and I'd imagine Sr doesn't either. It feels like Jr is being rushed into this fight with Golovkin, maybe 2 or 3 fights too early. McClellan was a beast but at least Benn was ready and proven. Same with Calzaghe, he was already proven

Rapid Stanley Agreed, I admire the guts of Jr, if it really is him who wants the fight and is not being pushed into it by his old man. There are loads of big names that have dodged this fight with Golovkin in the last few years, so credit to Jr if it does happen. I agree he will give it everything however long it lasts and if he has the same chin as his dad, it could last awhile. Murray lasted 11 but you could see he was in agony, it was his heart that carried him that far

Klitschko isn't all that, he's been out done in the press conference so much so, he tried his best to piss fury about by pulling a daft injury. I'll admit, I was a Eubank guy, and although Benn disappointed me many times in the past I always respected him., I used to think he was an act (hell even Chris, himself, admitted he was an act) but as I've followed Nigel through retirement, it's clear he's a real motherfu*cker. 0:34 - 0:36 tells you all you need to know about that. Ha ha Understand, I'm American, but I've always (since age 5) followed British boxing. I'm over here trying to tell people about the Dark Destroyer. He only gets respect here in the boxing circles, but the average guy who 'likes boxing' here doesn't even know about him. Had he been in the states he would have been wildly popular as well. He's what we call a ''baller'. I personally think he was one of the hardest punchers of all-time..I put him over Jackson...that is for sure. No disrespect to Julian.
