Wow someone seems a bit salty. Nigel is probably my favourite all time boxer second to tyson for their brutal style and power but the post is about Eubank being a great boxer and im sorry but your response is nothing short of pathetic. Talking about Eubank loosing his wife and going bankrupt and how ben is doing so much better is a poor attempt at a dig on the guy who just "out boxed" the champ and has nothing to do with the skill of Eubank or even boxing for that matter. It sounds like you are hurt that ben could never beat him so you result to childish insults, so i'll say again..... you seem a bit salty.

@@andyelliott8027 wow, so what was all that in aid of then? What is your whole point here? Nobody in this post has once mentioned anything about benn not being great, in fact I started my post with saying he is my favourite so why are you now trying to prove to me that he was great? I know he was great dumbass that's why he is my favourite. Both fighters were incredible and if you can't see that regardless of which one is your favourite then boxing is clearly not for you. Yes a one point deduction made the 2nd fight a draw but what has that got to do with the op saying Eubank was great? Is it just because he didn't say that benn was great also that got you all upset? You are clearly very butt hurt about the 1st loss and controversial 2nd loss of benn and if you want to start talking bollocks about who each of them fought etc how about Eubank hospitalising Watson the guy who beat benn? This doesn't make Eubank better than benn, nor does benn hospitalising Mcclellan make benn better than Eubank, each of them unfortunately changed the lives of two great fighters forever because each of them are themselves 2 of the greatest fighters ever whether you like it or not.

The AJ interview/diatribe following the fight with Usyk brought me back here. It's easy to pile on, saying he was selfish to steal the moment from Usyk or that he lacked self-awareness in that moment. But when a man is badly concussed after going through the wringer for 12 rounds, he probably doesn't need to be given access to a mic. People should be more understanding and compassionate. He was emotional after getting beaten up despite giving his all.

@@shamrockshore6308 Do you know how easy it is to get a swell around the eyes? Try it as an experiment, use pillows and see what happens, let alone punches. But the punches aren't hard enough, Benn has a much powerful punch that's just how it is. Does Eubank have a good chin? Definitely, does he have punching power? Nope, I would say his punching power is about average. A bit like Galzaghe and even Steve Collins. Steve Collins had an extraordinary good chin, but he was also another slapper when it comes to his punching power. He wins on points mainly I can't remember him knocking someone out.

Eubanks was one of the hardest fighters to ever grace the ring. Benn was unbelievable too. Both were great fighters. I saw hagler , Duran, hearns and sugar ray , but these two were just brutal. Hagler v Eubanks or Benn would have been immense. Nigel Watson was unbelievable too at this time, but the brutal nature of the sport took it's toll. Eubanks was like a block of concrete , and for that reason , I think he's the hardest middleweight of all time. Some of the shots he took and just brushed off were insane. If I had to pick one fighter through history for his durability, then Eubanks would be top , regardless of weight.

THIS was the best times in British boxing. No DAZN etc, charging you for the fights. This was FREE on itv1. We got all the big fights free on terrestrial tv. Unheard of now. And the fighters still made millions. Great days. I was 20 watching this live.

In that final round, Chris Eubank stepped up a gear and was continually peppering Nigel until the fight was stopped - good decision.

It's funny you say that I thought that Nigel started the final round the strongest and Chris seemed to be tiring but that one two drained everything out of Nigel. I think the stoppage was a bit premature with 8 seconds left in the round though.

These two were another level of hard. Benn was never a good ring technician, he could just blow people away simply through his strength and athleticism, but Eubank was just that bit too classy for him. Big respect to both men.

One of the best fights I've seen in a British ring. Richard Steele got a good bit of criticism for the stoppage but he boxed himself and would know a hurt fighter when he saw one. Watch how he's carefully looking at Benn before and during those last few shots before he stops it, he's the closest to it. Benn looked on his way out to me and I never had a problem with the stoppage. Unlike Benn Eubank never fought any top level Americans or Europeans whether at middle or super middle so we'll never know how good he really was but boy was he tough, as was Benn

Their two fights remind me of the Fury/Wilder saga. Benn being a constant aggressor swinging wildly and scattering around blowing himself out, Eubank patiently breaking him down and maintaining an eagle like focus .
