Total respect to Nigel for being true to Jimi and telling Classic FM to stuff it...

True to Jimmy in what sense? Nigel butchered the song and made a self-aggrandizing political commentary about it

Well she's walking through the clouds with a circus mind that's running wild Butterflies and zebras and moonbeams and fairly tales, That's all she ever thinks about... Riding the wind When I'm sad she comes to me with a thousand smiles she gives to me free It's alright, she says, it's alright, Take anything you want from me, anything. Fly on, little wing.

Watch the scene where mozart improvs valieri's march and you might get what he's doing. Not that hendrix is valieri, kennedy refers to him as beethoven or bach. But you get the point. Don't expect a world class virtuoso to play a direct cover.

Hmm. Sounds like a soundtrack from a Japanese samurai film. The only one covered it and who did it right was stevie ray vaughan.

And Stevie did it with love and mastery. Other greats should try their hand at it. Jurassic FM is lacking a clue about music's universal quality.
