Brilliant top 10 and honourable mentions !! I remember being fascinated with the research you did on the munitions factory , loved that tangible social history outcome , my favourite however was the cross bow bolt in bone , superb find . Having said that all your finds are awesome . HH Colin

Wow... what a year detecting you have had Nigel. The crossbow bolt did it for me mate. How that tip has stayed lodged in the bone marrow chamber for that long amazes me. They you casually pull an Anglo Saxon coin out of the bag as the bonus find... top of my bucket list and still eluding me grrr. Hope you have prosperous 2024 my friend.

Yes Chris it could be earwax remover. Other idea is for crushing ants and bugs for the colouring for make-up. Probably multiple uses. If only we could see for a day! Best wishes.

Awesome finds brother the 3 silver coins fused together is interesting as when you melt silver coins they melt from outside meaning the front and back coins would be nearly gone to fuse the three coins together. I think maybe a coin spill. And 100s of years later a fire was built over the top of where they were dropped and the heat caused nitrates to form from nitrogen in the soil and overtime the silver nitrate fused them together. Hcl will dissolve the silver nitrate releasing the coins and detail hcl dose not dissolve silver. Absolutely awesome finds cannon ball my favourite take care brother
