I think satisfying is a great word to describe it. This choreo is more about the subtlety and details rather than big powerful moves, the song doesn't call for that. There is a certain unique essence that like crazy has and I think this choreo perfectly captures that. There is also a story within it; the reflection, masculine and feminine etc. It was very cleverly done. In short I LOVE this choreography.

So here's what I think about the choreo. Jimin wanted to express himself and whatever message he wants to convey through his dance rather than just going all out with a super fast paced routine. There's alot of theories right now, but bottom line is this clearly means something to him personally, and honestly the more I watch it, the more beautiful it becomes to me. I'm very proud of him for tapping into his contemporary dancing routes for this song, and I REALLY hope to see more of this from him. His dancing is just so magnetic and special 💜

I love Jimin so much and I always fight for his freedom to self express. So as important as it is to support him if the theory is proven true, it's just as important not to box him into that on the off chance that the theory is false
@angelah5307
@angelah5307 Жыл бұрын
I totally agree. There are many different ways to interpret the lyrics, MV and choreo, but it seems like a lot of people are definitively putting labels on him and claiming their interpretation is exactly what Jimin was trying to express. Of course we should support him no matter what, but I don't think it's alright for people to casually speculate on and push their theories onto others and Jimin himself when he has never explicitly addressed the matter. We all know BTS is very supportive of everyone, no matter their race, religion or sexuality, so of course Jimin would treat the dancers with respect and create music that makes everyone feel welcome. I'm not saying the theories are or aren't true, but I personally don't think everyone should be speculating and commenting on something so personal, and given Korean culture and their impending military enlistment, it does more harm than good to push these labels onto Jimin. I know this is all coming from a good place, and it's great to see how supportive everyone is and will be if it proves to be true; however, I wish people would be less forceful about it and insisting their own interpretations must be the truth. We should respect what Jimin himself has and has not said about the song/album and what it represents.
@nameisitsybee
@nameisitsybee Жыл бұрын
@@angelah5307 No one should be pushing a label on him, you are right. But acknowledging the art and interpreting it however we feel is right is valid too. The mv and choreo is clearly queer coded. It does not mean we are assuming sexualities or genders but recognizing something that is being shown to us. Also one of the dancers from his Jimmy Fallon performances is non-binary and another one belongs to one of the biggest ballroom cultures in the US. And to expect someone to come out or explain themselves is being heteronormative, because he doesn't owe us an explanation. If he is being this loud with it, it would be unfair to not even recognise it for what it is and put it up to him being unaware, because he clearly puts a lot of thought in whatever he puts out.
@angelah5307
@angelah5307 Жыл бұрын
@@nameisitsybee Thank you for your comment - I had to think about it for a bit because what you're saying definitely makes sense and I appreciate you taking the time to explain your point of view. I think I personally feel a bit conflicted about where the line is being drawn between seeing something as queer coded in terms of art and pushing a definitive label onto the artist themselves. I definitely agree that they don't owe us any sort of explanation and no one should ever feel pressured to come out, but at the same time, if their intention was purely to make their audience feel respected and included, it could be equally harmful to impose these beliefs onto them, especially taking into account their culture and real-life relationships. Regarding the dancers, I'm quite sure all BTS members would treat them with the same amount of respect and welcome them onto their team. It was touching reading their Instagram post and knowing how safe and appreciated they felt working with Jimin. Again, I definitely agree with what you're saying and thank you for articulating it so well. I think the main reason I personally feel so conflicted is because if something is intentionally queer-coded and it's a way for the artist to express something they may not necessarily be able to say out loud, by communicating these feelings through their art, it can be a huge relief for them to know how supportive the community is and will be for them. On the other hand, if the community is excessively loud and insistent about it, I do wonder if this is almost equivalent to forcing them to come out. And if this wasn't actually their intention and they weren't queer, then wouldn't everyone be mislabelling them and again forcing them to publicly declare their sexuality? I don't know the answer, and obviously it's great to have these discussions in general (not necessarily specific to Jimin, as he is a human being, not an idea to be thrown around) and, as you said, art is open to interpretation (and now reading back on my own comment, I was definitely also a bit too insistent on what 'should' and 'shouldn't' be theorised on), but I personally think, at the end of the day, what's important is that the audience feels accepted, and Jimin knows we will support him no matter what - I just don't think people should definitively put labels on him. My earlier comment and frustration mainly came from seeing so many people on social media telling new reactors etc. that Jimin is definitely bisexual - there's nothing wrong with being bisexual, but labelling him as such without his consent also doesn't feel right. Sorry for the super long reply....I hope that makes sense 😣
@nameisitsybee
@nameisitsybee Жыл бұрын
@@angelah5307 @Angela H Don't be sorry for the long comment. I actually really appreciate how respectful and thoughtful you were in your reply because usually I am faced with close minded responses. This really brightened me up knowing that there are people who still can have respectful conversations on controversial topics on a platform like KZbin while being open to critique. I completely agree with your point of people commenting on reactors videos about jimin's sexuality. But honestly, the crowd here on KZbin is mostly younger audiences and/or people who might not have really driven into BTS's art, or are maybe here just for the fun of it. I'm not shaming people but that's mostly what I've seen on this platform. Over on twitter where I usually get updates and discourse on the boys, a great deal of people are mostly discussing how the mv and choreo specifically might be queer coded and how it might be related to what Jimin has previously presented or said before. About assuming sexualities, I don't think it is something we can police on the internet. Because similarly how it happened with Harry styles and Billie eilish, celebrities who may have queerness in their art or themselves get speculated on about their sexualities. This is not me excusing it because it is clearly none of our business but is something that happens. However I don't think fans of Jimin are speculating to that extent, at least not that I've seen. I really doubt that BTS might include queerness in their art just to be respectful. Because it exists even in their personal mixtapes, fashion and conceptual ideas. Again, this is not me speculating on their sexualities or gender. It is just me recognising queer messages, regardless of intention, as the art they put out is open to consumption and interpretation subjectively. It has nothing to do with their personal lives and preferences because we will never be privy to that and it will never be our place to pry. Unless and until the fandom at large starts labelling them as something they are not, it won't be a problem imo. Because BTS are very used to hate and criticism, more than we know. And they most probably aren't in a position to be vocal about it due to their position and culture. And they do not have to be vocal about it at all if they don't want to. However, calling them straight might also be mislabelling them. The idea of straight until stated otherwise is again, heteronormative and sees queerness as the 'other'. No one has to come out or state their sexuality, not just celebrities. In such instances I think it is safe to just use gender neutral terms when referring to possible romantic or sexual partners and moving on. I think we are doing fine as a fandom to respect them and their boundries. KZbin and tiktok is a weird place to be on to get resourceful information or insight into BTS unless it's from official or extremely trusted and reliable sources. I would be happy to discuss or elaborate on anything that I mentioned that maybe sounds confusing. 🤗

Jimin is so good betraying how he feels in his lyrics and videos. Jimin is dreaming . The mv is based on the movie Like Crazy. The main characters fell in love, then got pulled apart and had to try to sustain a long distance relationship. Jimin is dreaming and trying to escape hardship of being apart. He uses clubbing and other things that intoxicate him into forgetting how hes feeling. They can meet in his dreams so he doesnt want to wake up. I don't think the girls represent his femine side, rather hes protraying both the male and female side because they"re both hurting. Thats why they're split into men dancing then women dancing. I think the mud reference being stuck. . The mud on his hand at the end is probably his dream and reality overlapping.
@taywilli412JK
@taywilli412JK Жыл бұрын
That’s interesting. Maybe Jimin did mean something like that too when he did this. You could also think the mud and the inky water coming down the walls and the tar in his apartment are inner demons. He did say he watched this movie for the first time back in 2011 and was interested in it because he was really into one of the song. In the beginning, when the girl grabbed his hand with her muddy hand, he came back with mud on his hand. He can’t “get rid of” that part of himself, his reflection. I think this because the mirror scene and the fact that the woman kind of looks like Jimin. They could have picked anyone, but she resembles him quit a lot.

You have to remember that the choreo has to take into account the fact he is giving live performances, so he has to be able to sing and dance comfortably. Obviously he already does this with BTS but there’s 7 of them so he’s not singing all the time. This time, he’s on his own (yes I know he uses a backing track) but he’s still singing the most part. I think it’s beautiful and fits perfectly with the song.

Aside from deep theories…. Can we appreciate the beginning of the dance practice. The girl on the floor, left side. Not so much her hand but her head looks like it’s right in his crotch. Then she dances the reflection part. We each have both sides…I think, and it’s only my opinion, that it’s easier for a woman to embrace her masculine self. When we do we are seen as strong but men are raised alot to believe they have to be strong, don’t show your emotions. A few years ago Jimin said in an interview he learned it was good to be able to cry. I think for him when he started out as a trainee he had a mindset that perhaps caused him to block his sensitive side. Over the years we have seen him grow into a much softer spoken person. In the beginning he came across very manly and seemed angry at times. I think we all grow up and into ourselves. I am not the 17 year old me. Some people theorize that this means he is saying he is this or that. But I believe this song signifies that he is not in a box as well. He just wants to be free to be Jimin, without labels. J Hope gave that vibe as well. As idols they are so careful to maintain the definition of what an idol is. BTS changed k pop. Maybe they will break the stereotypes in 2025 because they will not gather together again boys, but men who have their own beliefs and opinions. It will be a bolder BTS

It's not just theory, Nigel. The song's lyrics also talk about his reflection in the exactly same part of the choreography where he dances with the girl. She is his reflection. In the choreography you also see, when they are together, hugging each other, they breathe at the exactly same time, as one. The dancers represent Jimin, both men and women. They are one, Jimin. Jimin is fighting his feminine side, but at a certain point he accepts it, that's when he only dances with the girls. Then he goes back to the male side, but then he accepts both sides and incorporates them. The song's lyrics and choreography match the message he wanted to convey. Listen to the English version, it's better for you to understand.

@@hearts4b1llzo Unfortunately, many people are in denial. The fact that Jimin dances with a girl is not diminished by the fact that she represents him. Girls and boys touched him to the same extent, the difference is that the girls get closer, because Jimin would not put men closer to him, he knows very well the prejudiced society he lives in and the fans who have a closed mind and do not accept reality. People paid so much attention to the girl that they didn't see that men also touch Jimin, including Jimmy Fallon's performance, they touch him even more than in the dance practice. The lyrics of the song are clear, the choreography is even clearer. People need to learn how to interpret the songs and choreographies.

The choreo fits the song. The song is not about partying its about escaping reality and handling your wounds. This is waht jimin said about the song. There are many interpretations for this song. Jimin often puts things about gender in his videos and photos ; If you look at his jeans in the bathroom scene there is a picture of a gay photgrapher whos most famous work was a study of bdsm in New York during the 1960's and 70's.

I saw a lot of discussion of choreography (representing his feminine and male side, even sexuality), but what I think for the first place is: men here because you will be hella jealous if it would be only girls (you even jealous now, imagine another situation) 😂. Just watch what Sunmi or Jackson are doing with their opposite gender dancers (for example). Army are really not ready for what will be coming next or mb the most immature ones (both age and mentally) will just leave fandom and we and boys could finally breath openly.

NIGEL, DONT BELIEVE THE THEORIES ABT THE GIRLS SYMBOLIZING HIS FEMININE SIDE, IT'S JUST SOME PPL'S ASSUMPTIONS, in an interview (for rolling stone I think), jimin himself explained that the song is abt the complexity, ambiguities, paradoxes & push & pull issues in RELATIONSHIPS between people !!!

The chero was perfect for the tempo of the music is the little settle moves that made the most impact if it would have been fast it would have thrown it off. Its more about the words than the dancing. 💃 🕺I hope he does more sexy choreography and expresses himself more BTS breaking out the Kpop images BTS is art 💜. You been jealous is still super weird 😅😂

There is not only that theory, this song can have so many meaning actualy, the girls may represent his inner self but also can represent his past relationship. Jimin said that this album represents his emotions and hardships that he experienced durind the pandemic, he was so used to getting drunk all the time, clubing, havin a great time with friends and loved ones until he realised that thats not who he really is and those things and actions were actually breaking him

Who said you wouldn't like the choreography? Art is subjective. I beg you subscribers don't decide for him. That's rude. It's not right. However, you can state your opinion. I love the raw dance practice. No distractions of set, costume, lighting, camera edits, or angles. Just pure smoooooth Jimin. If you didn't know this choreography fits the storyline and lyrics perfectly. And Jimin floats brilliantly. No. I don't get what you are saying. But it's ok. Your opinion counts. Less is more. It's perfect. But if it doesn't "hit" you it's ok. I don't like the MV. Give this time.

You should watch JK's newest live 😂it's pretty much just 98 minutes of JK being whipped for jimin. He literally went live to watch the new Suchwita ep with Jimin, the Set Me Free pt 2 MV AND dance practice, the Like Crazy dance challenge and a funny compilation with bts teasing Jimin. It was so funny and wholesome. And then today on Jimin's live, JK spammed the comments 😂☺️
