Nigeria's inflation rate accelerated further in January and reached almost 30% in annual terms, driven by soaring food costs and the fall of the country's naira currency to record lows.

I'm a Ghanaian. Same thing happened in Ghana; it is interesting that right now everybody claims they didn't vote for Akufo Addo. Our people don't learn, they deserve whatever they get from their myopic decisions

When I look and see the despair and sewage in the waters and crushing poverty in South Africa, Nigeria and Zimbabwe, I think of that old Peter Tosh tune ~ you know, the one where he sings about Africa's incredible natural resources and the wealth and unlimited potential and asks why then are Africans so poor and suffering. Must have something to do with the top political elite I reckon.

Almost all governments that subsidise energy end up cutting or removing the subsidy and population growth, energy demand or simple economic cost kicks in. The reduction has to be done during good times and phased to prevent a sudden shock.

Before you feel pity for the people you see protesting hardship, it is worthy to note that they chose to vote for an incompetent leader who is a convicted drug dealer in the US because he belongs to their tribe and religion. Now they are suffering the consequences. Learn from Nigeria, choose competency over bigotry always. ✌️

A family of four estimated monthly costs are $834.8 in Nigeria with rent. A family of four estimated monthly costs are $1,198.7 note that is without rent in India. So I say face your problems, Africa is still growing. Also report the good things happening there, stop all this one-sided narrative. Most of Europe. Twenty-six countries, including France ($2,240), Sweden ($2,100). The U.S. and Canada at approximately $2,942 per month. So with this figure, Africa is doing much better, stop inciting violence and anger.

Average Nigerian traders are problems for other Nigerians, arbitrarily increasing food items & skyrocketing essential commodities prices. Though! President Tinubu, errs by throwing Naira free floats markets that commenced depreciations of values of Naira, shortly after removal of fuel subsidy without readily refurbished four existing refineries - Pirt-Harvourt, Warri & two Northern refineries are in ultimatum working capacity.
