Let's bring more of Basil to the show. I see another Kelvin in him. Was blown away when he said he isn't professionally inclined to talk about illegal activities. What a sweet guy!!!

Nigeria should note that while some countries include illegal activities in their GDP to reflect the full scale of economic activity, many others exclude them due to measurement difficulties and ethical concerns.

If the US and Canada captures the underground dealings, and the Euro zones also add there's, why should we not add ours? Mr Uche Uwaleke should keep that thought to himself. I believe that would even help the government to understand more about the underground trends. They would have more information of illegal activities, and know what measures to take in order to address those issues.

I appreciate Basil Abia; young and intelligent. Rebasing the GDP is good but including illegal activities in GDP computation means legitimization of illegalities. CPI/GDP recomputation should follow the best global standard. As an economist, i never saw prostitution, drugs peddling as components of GDP.

GDP debasing has no relevance on the price of garri in the market. Elitist economics and APC political capital thereof for 2027. Maybe APC will tell us we are now a 1 trillion dollar economy. Food is ready for their comic supporters ahead.😂😂😂

Cooking I see. This prof is shaky and thinks 34% inflation rate is acceptable. “Rebase” your leadership instead. Inflation in South Africa is 2.9 and they think it is high. This professor is shady as hell.
