Then whats the point building the refinery then... That's 0% gain. I was thinking the Dangote refinery will make Nigeria richer through exports. But they are still making the Us & Europe richer.

USA refineries cannot process shale oil; hence, they must export it for external processing. I hope that they are selling it back to America and Europe after they have added value. And Nigeria really needs infrastructure in order to bring the oils from the fields. You need oil trains. ❤ What of African countries with oil, perhaps they can buy from them too..?

General infrastructure is not the problem here (it is A problem, understood). Nigeria's oil arm NNPC is not operationally productive for a host of systematic reasons. It just doesn't run well as a government run institution. As far as African countries with oil, most including Nigeria, are not meeting or barely meeting their OPEC output quota, so doubt they have oil to give, particularly at competitive prices. Also, outside of Nigeria which is THE country, there's really only a handful of countries that move oil in global commercial quantities. Angola, Algeria . That's the short list.

Because it's America's money that built this refinery. This investment is not based on short term view so this reasons stated here are irrelevant because contracts come to an end and prices change over time so dangote could have geared this refinery to local crude and Nigeria can always increase production.
