It’s not about acquiring expensive equipment but knowledge to operate them efficiently and effectively. Bring peace to the nation not acquiring different expensive equipment.

So Nigerian military should continue buying from the west is that what you’re saying, I believe the Nigerian military are capable of manufacturing their own weapons just like American Russian china Iran and others

@@nnsulaiman6313 Why don't you start building military equipment in Nigeria. I hate it when people like you grumble about everything without having any plans to do anything . All I said was that it is the private sector that builds military equipment in advanced countries, not their military . It seems you don't understand the tens of billions of dollars the private sector pumps into R&D in the production of military stuff in advanced countries. You need to abandon this Nigerian idea that the government can do everything. They can't.

Kenya is now designated as a major non-NATO ally which Nigeria isn't, USA is also planning to modernize KDF so its unlikely Nigeria will match Egypt, Morroco or Kenya anytime soon.

Why aspiring to be third when they can be number 1? Poor dream and weak vision in my assessment. Besides, it goes to show how poorly funded our military and police is. It's so embarrassing that we are at this low levels, while our politicians loot public funds unabated

You don't know history. The military government led by the Army destroyed the Airforce out of fear. We have been making a lot of progress since the return to Democracy and we will eventually become number one.

The US gives Billions of Dollars to the Egyptian military every year. It is going to be difficult right now for Nigeria to surpass Egypt. However, we have been making a lot of progress because the Airforce was cannibalized by the Army during the military rule out of fear that the Airforce may want to assert dominance.

You lack intelligence. So, you expect the Airforce to bomb militants who are using civilians as human shields. The guys who bombed civilians with terrorists are being court-martialled right now. Go and join the military now if it was that easy.

To become 3rd largest in Africa for what purpose? Is it to protect the criminal political elite or to protect the murderous Fulanis who have been killing people for more than 8 years. A responsible armed force protects the people first, not the irresponsible political elite

Grumbler, Nigeria has no Airforce before 1999 as the Army cannibalized the Airforce during military rule. Our Airforce is very strong now. We should be grateful.
