I did not know that American football was played in Japan. We learn something new everyday! Awesome story about what seems like an awesome individual in an EXTREMELY awesome country. When I make a trip over there I’m def going to make sure it’s during the X League season. That’s so cool. I bet it’s better without all of the extra bravado. The Japanese are very respectful and reserved. It wouldn’t seem like football would fit over there, but now I see that it actually does.

Good and heartwarming story. Decades or a century later, NFL may find a player like Nomo, and then, Ohtani in MBL.

I respect the courage it to to stay loyal to your coach and team. When you got that call from the nfl. I love your story. I pray for that day the nfl and x league get a true partnership. I want to see football blossom like we all know it can in japan and i want to see more asian ppl play the game and enter the league. Also anyway we can get ufotable to remake and complete the eyeshield 21 series

Having been to Japan many times on business, I can attest that it is a very difficult country to be a foreigner or gaijin in. Having said that, when you truly make friends with a person from Japan, the level of loyalty is hard to express. Satoshi Fujita is obviously a great coach, but the way he became friends with Ade is not unusual in my experience. Japan has a concept of giri or duty that we have forgotten in the last 7 or 8 decades in the West. We would be wise to try to regain it. Amazing video.

Would love to see the NFL work with The league in Mexico, European League of football, and the x-league more. Those are 3 solid leagues, and with the NFL exposure could really help grow. I think in the next decade we’re going to see a lot more foreign players in the NCAA.

The meaning of the word "Ikigai" is just "what you live for," like "His Ikigai is playing football," but his explanation of the concept is well said. His love for football guided him to Japan, and we Japanese appriciate him with all love🤍❤

Definitely made the better decision to stay in Japan and getting to the championship game every year. Rather than to play for the Lions, lose half your games, and not even make it to playoffs... and if they did, they lost in the 1st game. lol
