Tinubu or anyone who ran for Presidency do not know you even exist neither do they know your name. You are not even relevant to politics just someone who is unable to tell your kids why Nigeria is harder for them now than when you were their age. . No, many of the Nigerian artists and celebrities always speak up, especially during the Endsars protests in 2020, they joined the protest and also used their platforms. But this time they are indifferent due to how endsars transpired and also cos the current govt is relatively new in office and understanding of some of the policies, their opinions are divided.

Nigeria is an excellent example of what Dr. Nkrumah described in his book Neo-Colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism, that the US state department demanded that he recant. When you adopt the political and economic systems that enslaved you, you should not be surprised about the results. Say what you want about China, they never abandoned their cultural identity in favor of their colonial master. And in forty years, they have most sophisticated infrastructure in the world and 850 million out of poverty.

Reforms are necessary in Nigeria. However, they have to be phased and supported by fairly-implemented short-term palliatives. The sacrifice for the reforms should cut across board; no group or segment of people should suffer more. Government should know that most of the people the policemen are killing with bullet were half-dead; they have not eaten a full meal for some days preceding the protest. They feel more honourable killed by the police than silently die of hunger. This is why I am pessimistic the protest will stop in response to the appeal by Mr. President. If the protest is stopped by force, the possibility of a remote version is not ruled out. This will worsen the already bad security challenges in the country. The executive, the legislative and the judicial arms of the government at both the federal and state levels must re-think their expenditure levels and patterns as part of the reforms necessary to rebuild Nigeria. If given enough publicity and made verifiable, the measure could make the protesters to soft-pedal. The classic macro economic policies the President read to the nation a few hours ago, are only understood by a small percentage of the people. The larger percentage want to see the high cost of living in the country drastically reduced automatically or within a very short time.

Your reporting is biased and boardline racist. Hundreds if not thousands in Bangladeshis have died due to your months long protests. but 7 die in nigeria and you use extreme language like "deadly" and "blood shed". whilst the bangladeshi people have destroyed their country, raided their prime ministers residence like savages, almost faced a military coup. you assume the military will let go of power. I have never seen so many people on the streets, protesting. Nigeria would never do such. nor would a military coup happen in 2024. Please be fair with your language. because banglashi has exhibited far more savagery than nigeria. use appropriate language in your headlines.

Three things Tinubu has done that can change Nigeria permanently. GAME CHANGERS 1. 1st University students loans program since 1960. Anyone can attend university irrespective of financial status 2. 1st federal LGA monthly allocation paid directly to 776 LGAs accounts. For the first time, about N776 billion will go directly to the grassroots. 3. Canceled the UNSUSTAINABLE fuel subsidy, which DRAINED approximately $10 billion annually, or 2% of the nation’s GDP and redirected the money to the 36 states for use towards health, education, infrastructure, security etc...states now get about 25% more than what they used to get before President Tinubu became president GAME CHANGER
@bolanleorebiyi23875 ай бұрын
States and local governments are not acceptable for what they had and we all know what happens to Nigerian's common wealth, so why give them more monet? It's obvious that citizens can not feel the impact of the increased allocations as expected!!!
