Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria, is a bustling metropolis known for its vibrant energy. Situated along the Atlantic Ocean, it boasts stunning beaches and a diverse culinary scene. Today, I experience its lively markets for the first time. Now I'm not gonna lie, you'll see in this video that I've encountered many moments of intensity, specifically when some of the locals approached me asking for money. It was a stark reminder of the economic disparities that exist in this dynamic city, and I'll share with you how I navigated these encounters with the utmost respect and understanding.
Despite these moments, Lagos stole a piece of my heart with its warmth, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Join me as I navigate through the colorful markets, intense interactions, while immersing myself in the rhythmic beats of Afrobeat music pulsating through the air.
I got knocked out in a Nigerian boxing match ( • I was Beaten up in a N... )

Nah that's because he's from Europe. I'm a Nigerian and alot nigerians don't harass/beg tourists or citizens for money. He went to the hood of lagos(lagos is not our capital city) and that's where most uneducated and impoverished civilians reside in lagos state and also touts / hoodlums live there too. Nigeria is home to 36 states and each state is distinct and amazing and what you saw in the video does not represent in any way how the rest of the states in nigeria including lagos state. With that being said, lagos state is very beautiful and there is bad sides and good side too, the place Harry visited is the bad side.

Ignorance is such a disease. First of all Lagos isn't the capital, secondly that place is like a down town market place and thirdly if the poor are begging for obvious reasons , what do you say about the elite in the UK begging for Nigerians to bring their money for studies; manpower to boast the economy, not forgetting the resources constantly in demand by the so called elite in foreign nations. I think people should refrain from comments they cannot back up but rather give a balanced view of things, that's a fairer assessment.

These foolish KZbinrs knew what they are aiming for. Knowing well they will be ignored in the affluent area, they preemptively made a visit to the no- so-good area bcuz they know they will attract viewers. It is utterly sickening.

Don't let people molest you lad. Be firm have some boundaries. You're the type of traveller to end up kidnapped, robbed or injured in these places. Edit - I'm not saying Harry's a wimp or anything like that. The man's got courage and balls. I'm saying lack of situational awareness, no fighting skills and over familiarity with strangers in a place like Nigeria is risky.

I disagree, i think he's more firm and tough than some of the African American youtubers that come to Nigeria, one thing I will say is he should be a little more aggressive, especially when that drunk guy was touching his hair. But overall, he's definitely not the wimp you make him out to be. Also, you can't be too hostile or loud in that market, you don't want to attract a lot of attention or make people around you annoyed by your camera presence.

Abuja is the capital of Nigeria. By the way, that section of Lagos you visited is called Balogun market, it's a madhouse, but you could get a lot of goods, at considerable prices there. It's the one place even Lagosians are worried about going, this place does not represent Lagos or Nigeria in any way! With your level of exposure, it's quiet. Frightening that you could get these small details wrong!

A white man in the streets of Nigeria is automatically rich. In short, you have no excuse not to be rich, especially when you are in the midst of people in the sun working so hard to eke out a living. 🙂🙂🙂 BTW, "oyibo" is not a derogatory word; it is just a Nigerian word for "white" I laughed so hard as I watched the video. Thank you for making positive remarks about Nigeria. No thanks to our bad leaders and online fraudsters - our image is terrible out there.
