I disagree with Tope and Ubiajulu's take, a boy who is into gangs cannot be talked out of it, the European society prevents the parents from using the needed force to make the child comply. So it is only natural to take him to an environment where he is no longer immuned from harsh punishments. Secondly, if the boy is really in a gang, he's life would be in danger if he tries to withdraw from the gang, they need to get him out of there.

Honestly! The hosts have no clue what they're talking about; talking about sitting the boy down to talk to him. As if his parents wouldn't have tried that at a certain stage. SMH.

His 12 not 16,he joined a gang in London they can’t discipline him properly in the UK ,the mistake is one of them should had stayed in Nigeria with him,some times you can’t handle the kids once they join gangs in the UK ,I have seen so many African boys locked up in the UK so I don’t blame the parents ohhh!!!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You’re a great parent. You stayed with your child and that’s the key. These abandoned children bare the scars of this abandonment for life.
@UncommonGiftКүн бұрын
A lot of Nigerian parents have done this over the years. I think the key issue is luring your child under false pretense. You pretend as though they’re going on holiday and then you just leave them in an unfamiliar environment. They didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to their friends. It is abandonment and it breaches trust between parent and child. Parents shouldn’t shift their responsibilities when things get tough. Parenting is not easy.
@femiodunsi542Күн бұрын
The panelists don't seem to understand the sutuation at all. Perhaps its because they don't live abroad. If the child is part of gang then perhaps the child if far gone and all else has failed. Suggesting the parents convince the child to go to Nigeria isn't likely to be successful. Which child in a gang would accept that? The parents probably feel there last chance is to try to create physical distance between their child and the gang by moving the child abroad. It doesn't mean they have abdicated responsibility for the child. They may have plans to visit and call frequently. We dont know this. Overall i think the panelists showed limited knowledge about the potential flipside of the story
@DominicaTraditionalWearКүн бұрын
There is even a possibility that the child would abscond from the home. Who knows the discipline in Nigeria may be exactly what he needs. He will make hopefully, good friends, learn the language, culture and customs. He might well enjoy the experience. I hope the lawyer will lean to the parents side.
@Bob-wq7lf19 сағат бұрын
Exactly my thoughts, the panelists are detached from the reality. The parents did what other parents have done and have proven to work. They are unaware of the mess (gangs, knives crime) associated with raising kids in London. The only parenting tool at your disposal is talking/pleading which is ineffective. I did this same thing with my daughter and it worked. She’s happy.

I will not allow any British institution tell me how to raise my child under any circumstance. This is a black male child. The British society is not invested in the success of this boy. Before you know it he will end up in the system - foster care & ultimately prison. This is usually the final destination of a black male child who refuse parental control and the British institution seem to aid this process. Black and white child are not the same. Their method will not work with a black child. I hope his parent stand their ground and protect their child. They should tell the nosy British lawyers to get lost.

You are very wrong. The child is minor. He was removed from England with description and that could be clarified as child abuse. So far the child goes to British embassy in Nigeria, he would be given protection he needed. That could even be taken away from his parents. If he told them that he's not feeling safe at home anymore. British don't joke with their kids @Bob-wq7lf

If the child was told it is quite possible he would abscond from the home. The parents know their child. A child in a gang is already showing red flags of a devious character with entitlement issues.

Your View ladies are really not in the position to give advice on this matter. If any of them live abroad, I'm certain they will do whatever it takes, including sending their children back home to save them from their selves. I feel the ladies are all being diplomatic with their takes on the issue.

I hope the parents got him a Nigerian passport before sending him to Nigeria. If they did, then the british government would not repatriate him. He is a dual citizen, dnt allow the british legal department to win this case, and it will serve a bad precedent. Besides, Nigerian parents fail bcos they dnt train their children here. They aren't raising children here, they to pretend to be what they aren't, & this happens.

Tope & Beecee just ended up saying a lot of crap... I wonder how they easily conclude/judge on an issue like this only from the child's (a minor's) compliants... Where in America or Europe does the laws empower a child decide for he's/her parents where & what school to attend? Advice to the ladies is when thrown with such scenarios/questions do the needful by getting more facts on the case/matter... I know of several successful sport stars who say they were raised by grandparents or extended family and not their biological parents.
@kasmirsdaughter6211Күн бұрын
You’re loud and wrong my dear. All over America, judges take a child’s concerns into consideration if it falls on their desk. That is literally their job. To do what is in the child’s best interest not the failing parents best interest. In fact in some states by age 12, the opinions of a child is factored in when deciding what parent can have access or not. It won’t take much to find these parents negligible. In fact they should watch old episodes of this show where the panelists thought it was okay for teachers who were paid to chaperone children abandoned them in a hotel in Dubai and the unthinkable happened amongst the unsupervised children. All they need is to watch the headlines in Nigeria on boarding schools and those parents will know what’s up. Children deserve better.
@Barezzi-o6gКүн бұрын
@kasmirsdaughter6211 of course you have a point. However, I'm not wrong, it's not a one size fits all...Not all cases are viewed that way. For me the case here is if the parents have a right to decide where & what school to attend... Again, there are situations where parents were deported so children left with them. ICE separates children from parents, some children end up leaving the US with their parents if they insist on being together as a family. And remember, there are several of situations where wealthy parents send their children overseas to boarding schools. That a child making an allegation does not make it truth...

Morayo gets it. The rest don’t. You are dealing with a black male child in a gang. His parents are trying to save & preserve his life. In a gang, a child has an expiry date. if the issue could be resolved through talking that would have resolved the issue long ago. The parent saw the direction and wisely removed him from an environment that posed a risk to his life. This boy will end up in prison or have a short life if he remained in that environment . His parents foresaw this possibility and now they have taken action. Congratulations to them.

Some of you guys are not in the shoes of parents who are constrained to take such very extreme decisions. He who knows it feels it. Do you people live in the UK to know what operates there? Do you know how many parents who later regretted not send their children back to Nigeria before they lost them to knife and gun?
@kasmirsdaughter6211Күн бұрын
Good child. He will go far in life. I am sure he stated his fears to his parents but they didn’t care. It’s time for them to learn. Any parent who abandons their child in another country while they sit somewhere else chasing money is a failed parent. Some are not even chasing money but they still send their children away.

These hosts sef are plain annoying. Talk to the boy? Proverbs 23:14 clearly strike him with the rod to save him from the grave. Foolishness is tied up in the heart of a boy but the rod of discipline, will remove it from him. Same Proverbs 23:23 says, if you hit him with the rod, he will not die. Woke parents think they know everything, talking does not always help
