Nigerian Woman Japa From Wedding Because Groom No Wan Comot From Hin Papa House.

A lady has reportedly canceled her wedding after discovering she’ll be staying in her fiancé’s family house for two months after their wedding in Jos, Plateau State.
According to Morgak, it all started like a joke. About two weeks before the wedding, one faithful day while they were on a phone call gisting about their wedding plans. She then asked him, where did you say we will stay after our wedding. He replied; at Vom, and she asked, with your parents? He answered yes, and further said, but for just two months I can figure out how to rent a place in Vom since that’s where I make my earns need. Then he asks, why she is asking him that question when they have discussed it already. She said she was no longer in line with that agreement and insisted that he must rent a house before the wedding date, with emphasis that the house must be rented in Jos, not Vom.
Politely, he responded; we will rent a house wherever you so wish and desire but after the wedding, because I have a lot of things to put in place at the moment before the wedding date which you’re aware of, he said! He even went too weird to calculate for her what her family asked him to provide before he came to pick her up the day before the D- Dav (eve) and it cost more than 500k (+ T.P) aside from the wedding plans itself.
Upon that, she still insists that he must rent the house “IF NOT NO WEDDING”.

Coming from a mental and behavioral health background. There’s no right or wrong time to back out of a marital commitment if you notice red flags or warning signs. The lady in question may not have articulated her reasons but the ‘panel of judges’ should be able to read between the lines from her stated reasons. She would have envisaged her life with her in-laws and decided it would be best to preserve her wellbeing in all dimensions by living somewhere else. It is also said familiarity breeds contempt, that is ‘see finish’. Therefore what people should be concerned about is to help this young woman stand her ground, preserve her dignity and mental health. The way y’all are shifting the blame on this young woman shows that as a society we are all responsible for putting pressures on people and at the same time judging them when things go south. One of the panelist talked about being family oriented, no doubt, however there also exists personal boundaries that should be put in place and reinforced. In situations like living with in-laws there are a lot of porous boundaries that eventually breads contempt and hatred. May I use this medium to plead that people should not always do things based on their emotions but on reasoning and facts presented.
