Born in Ghana, raised in Jamaica, Kwame Dawes is the author of over twenty books of poetry and numerous other books of fiction, criticism, and essays. His most recent collection of poetry is Nebraska (University of Nebraska Press, 2019). He is also Glenna Luschei Editor of Prairie Schooner and the Chancellor's Professor of English at the University of Nebraska. He is Director of the African Poetry Book Fund and Artistic Director of the Calabash International Literary Festival, held in Jamaica. Last but not least, he is the associate poetry editor at Peepal Tree Press.
