I've used a normal cheap hammock to camp for years but got this for Christmas. Excited for the upgrade and whether or not I'll enjoy it

One of the better reviews of this.👍 However, put the lower straps, as low as you can, pulling down tight: it makes it much more stable. Also, if you can, wrap the straps around the tree at least once......

Just order it, is gonna arrive tomorrow. Still have to try it. But from what I saw, most of the people suggest to give at least a double turn around the trees, while you are setting it up. To give you more stability and don't fall off

That is true. It is different than a regular hammock. Much more comfy for sleeping all night once you get used to it though

how compact does it pack up? looking to put it in the sustainment pouch on my ruck or should i just lash it on the outside?

I show the bag with everything packed inside at 0:38. It would probably be better to strap it on the outside of your ruck IMO. Thanks for watching!

Great video! How well does it hold up in rain?..I’ve read mixed reviews about the zipper area leaking but haven’t found any video testimonials on it. I kind of want to buy one..but def don’t want to get soaked. 😅

Just one time, I would like to see someone actually put one of these lay flat hammocks by Night Cat ,up the right way. You have the tree straps all goofed up.

Sounds like you should make a video to show us all how to do it 🤣 unfortunately their included directions leave something to be desired. That might be part of the issue. Thanks for watching though.

Just one of them :) I know it’s recommended to have them double wrapped around the tree, but ran out of slack on the right side. It was just fine for demo purposes though ;) Thanks for watching.

Admittedly this is a very well made video of an otherwise shitty product. How much of a genius one has to be to know that the center of gravity is way too high, making the whole construction super unstable. Even if you don't fall out immediately, the odd feeling of tilting will haunt you the entire night. Instead of littering youtube with this trash product Night Cat should focus their resources into developing a better design in the first place.

Dang…sounds like there’s a back story to this one :) I’ve heard several people say that setting it up correctly is important. My first try was while shooting and I now know I should have hung it higher so the bottom straps could create more leverage. Sorry to hear you hate yours. I still think it’s a decent lay flat hammock.

@@TheTravelerToolKit when you look at competing products like the Helsdon hammock or the Haven Hammock Tent whose design is actually working and derived by common sense, I wonder what goes through the minds of these Night Cat folks to design such a monstrosity of a product that is a pain to set up yet still struggles to keep the user afloat.

Thanks for the tip! This is my first experience with a hammock tent. I’ll try to get a hold of some other companies like those and try them out in the future.
