I have had the Exped mat going on five years now. Mine began leaking air a year after purchase. I kept it due to it being really expensive and even after losing air, it was still somewhat comfortable. But what really brought me to this episode was trying to find how to properly secure the bag shut. Having it for five years I still have not mastered closing the bag and have disregarded it for a canvas zippered bag. I have kept the old bag for a "just is case I need it bag" and will practice with it again. Other than those two complaints, it is a nice sleeping pad.

I bought one for my bbq trailer a couple years ago, if your not on perfect flat surface it's kinda worthless because it does pull / push with both wheels in those situations so you go nowhere. So you have to unhook it and move the ball forward or backward if your not just going in one direction, genius. For sale.
@TheTravelerToolKit9 күн бұрын
You’re correct that it isn’t designed for uneven or sloped surfaces. It’s made for simple operations in tight spaces that would otherwise be impossible with a truck. Anything else should be done with a truck. Sounds like that’s what you’re trying to do with it. It’s excellent at doing what it was designed to do though.

These are always great, but inevitably as with all fabric regardless of how thick it is on the sides, will get a tear or rip at some point in time, it's not a question of if, but rather when it will happen. 100% hard shell all around is the only way to go. As with any product though of course, there will always be issues, but as for my souroundings, I prefer hard shell all around for safety from animals and the environment.
@TheTravelerToolKit22 күн бұрын
I hear what you’re saying in theory, but it would need to see a lot of use before that material would wear all the way through. At that point I think I’ve gotten my moneys worth. The only time it really gets worse is when it’s open and in use. You would need to use it thousands of days maybe even tens of thousands before that kind of wear would push it to failure IMO. Thanks for watching! Glad to have you on the channel.

@TheTravelerToolKit24 күн бұрын
The battery is actually a decent size. You can get 10 to 15 miles of pedal assist depending on how you use it. Not wobbly at all. Very stable and connected to the bike when in use. Thanks for watching.

It gives no detail on mileage or speed because its the most ridiculous thing ever. There are tons of electric wheels out therr and none became popukat why? Becase they suck
@TheTravelerToolKit24 күн бұрын
All of that is on the website. They estimate that you will get 10 to 12 miles on this larger unit but that always depends on how much you use it and how hard you work it. Thanks for watching.

What's the top speed? Do you have to pedal going up hills?? How far can you go on a full charge?? Please let us all know the real scoop of what this can do
@TheTravelerToolKit26 күн бұрын
Top speed really depends on how fast you pedal. You can easily do 15 to 20 miles an hour with this thing hooked up though. You will have to pedal going up hills. And of course, the amount of help it provides will depend on the severity of the hill. The same goes for most E bikes as well. Distance you can go on this battery. Will totally depend on how much you use it. Should easily get 8 to 12 miles out of the larger version though. That’s if you’re not using it to just climb steep hill all the time. In which case the battery will drain more quickly. Hope that helps!

Common problem with this kind of company. They never thought that Riders want to convert into Ebike because they hate hills or incline roads and unfortunately those are not helpful at all.
@TheTravelerToolKit27 күн бұрын
This is still helpful on inclines…it’s just proportionate. The bigger the motor, the greater the help. You’re not going to a hill without pedaling, but that’s also not what this particular project was designed for :)

Huge difference in this large pad. For a smaller pad the difference is of course smaller, as you said, but i know people who have a pump for backpacking and one for camping so it would be nonsensical (if you do both) to buy two instead of one. I have no pump only a cheap I battery operated light, but I don’t wanna pay double the price of the tiny pump 2x for the max3. The latter currently costs almost as much as my sleeping pad itself which is nuts. And still doesn’t have a red light, who knows why… The carabiner makes no difference to me since I made a soft shackle for hanging my current lantern already, and it’s likely lighter and more versatile than the carabiner included with the max 3. Overall great review with more detail than a lot of others out there. Thanks mate!
@TheTravelerToolKitАй бұрын
My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful :) I agree, if you are backpacking with a thin pad, the zero pump would be my choice. However, I am typically not backpacking…so that’s why I prefer the max pump 3.
