Very down-to-earth but comprehensive review. Appreciate the non-technical style of narration, makes it easy to understand for a layman like me. Two thumbs up 👍👍

Cracking vid Colin, great insights, very informative and straight to the important stuff. Looks very similar to the lanshan 1 by 3ful, be interested to see how it’s held up in a few months time in terms of build quality, after you’ve put it through it’s paces.

Cheers! Appreciate that. It will get some use over the next few months so I might do and of season long term review at some point. Keen to see how it performs.

Great video Colin and thanks for sharing your insight with regard to the tent. It looks like it's a carbon copy of my original Lanshan 1. Although, for winter usage, I swapped out the mesh inner and bought the winter solid fabric inner for my Lanshan 1, the only thing that I don't like about these style of tents when using them in colder conditions, is the front porch and the gap between the bottom of the fly and the ground. I find it a bit drafty (probably the reason why you experienced minimal condensation, perhaps?), and subsequently, they're not that great at keeping the heat in, even when I use the solid inner for it.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I think I'll keep it for 3 seasons which I guess it was intended for. I share the thoughts on the vestibule as well although in the summer you can probable keep a minimum of stuff in the vestibule so you can work around it. I have other 4 season tents so rather than get the lanshan inner I'll probably stick with my Robens or Terra Nova for those harsher conditions. Pretty impressed with it though!

@@thecolofthewild I agree with you about the 3 season bit. In the warmer months, the gap between the fly and ground, in conjunction with the mesh inner, is a godsend. In those conditions on a warm night, it's refreshing to feel the breeze and keep cool for sleeping.

@@Hengists_Wild_Camps I tend to have mine sitting lower and that reduces the gap at the front, found it much warmer inside once I did that 👍

Very much enjoyed this video. I have the lanshan 1 which is similar if not identical to the Night Cat. Cant figure out why the front guy has the loop back from the top of the tent to the vestibule but I have removed it. When the treking pole is lowered to 120 that massive gap between the ground and entrance is minimised for less air to blow into tent.

Great review, new subscriber here 👍 for those saying it's identical to the lanshan it's because it is a lanshan, apparently 3ul have given licence to night cat to sell them with their brand logo on 😉

Thanks for sub and comment Appreciated! Yes I think so about it being a Lanshan 1 Pro. At the end of the day it ticks a lot of boxes for the beginner UL backpacker. I'll certainly be getting use out of it.

Yeh I think from all accounts it's more or less a Lanshan. Like it. Perfect as an affordable Ultralight Backpacking option.

Thank you for de review! I have a question. Does the opening of the ground (below) not disturb during winter? not much wind coming in?
@thecolofthewild
@thecolofthewild Жыл бұрын
Hi. It's a 2-3 season tent so in the right season the wind is not an issue but in the winter you can set the pole to a slightly lower level and it will mean the fly is touching the ground on all but the front. Pitch into the wind so that the wind goes over the rear of the tent. Use a good mat in winter to insulate against cold ground.

Thanks for this video. I bought one after seeing your post on the wild camping group. I’m struggling a bit with the set up though. Should it have a loop where the trekking poke guy attaches to the tent peg? It seems the lanshsan does & the instructions suggest it should but mine hasn’t. I’m a bit of a novice and am not sure if it should have one or I’m just trying to do it wrong.
@thecolofthewild
@thecolofthewild Жыл бұрын
Hi It doesn't have a loop as such. Just use the single guy that attaches to the top and bottom. I've thought about adding a loop myself though to be honest although it's not necessary.

@@thecolofthewild Thanks for replying. It seemed odd that you need to keep the hook on one of the doors for it to hold. I just doubted myself I guess.
