Its okay as a new show. It has an arguably uphill battle with viewers because it will always be compared to its predecessor, which was one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. That is a very high bar and while its debatable if it can achieve any similar success, it certainly has a large pool of ex-cast members and guest stars for plenty of fan service.

According to an interview with Brent Spiner at a convention, the Wheelers appeared about 6 times on the old Night Court show and they were going to be series regulars with a food cart in the lobby of the court building, however Brent got the job of Data for Star Trek TNG so that never happened. Wheelers with Brent Spiner returned Mar. 2024 to the new Night Court show.

It wasn't the governor, it was the Secretary of State A. James Manchin. The complaint wasn't solely blaming Night Court for the economy. Manchin was attempting to bring about a change in the portrayal of West Virginians by the entertainment and media production companies at that time as a whole. The states citizens were constantly being depicted as being ignorant, uneducated, poverty stricken hillbillies with thick accents and in some cases inbred mutants. The negative impact created by the stereotypes were a lot more problematic than one would think. Its rather irritating and the impact it has on a person from WV traveling abroad is humiliating to say the least. While vacationing ive had people ask about how possums tastes or if my wife and I are related, one actually asked if we were siblings. Anytime you see or read any national news story that has WV citizens involved, the story is of something stereotypical and negative in nature. Strictly to sell papers or get clicks because everyone wants to see what the " inbred hillbilly done went and got into". So therefore the impact upon our economy is negatively impacted by these everyday depictions of West Virginians by the national media and entertainment groups.
