Switching a car at night - conductor POV. Would you like to see a longer video like this? Is it too dark? Too bright? Leave me a comment - thanks!

Wow! That’s absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere you created with the lights caressing the freight is incredible.

I can still remember the first time I ran my trainset in the dark at 7 years old and how cool it was. It just adds a whole other dimension and perspective to our hobby and watching from the train's perspective only adds to it. Thank you! Can't wait to try this on my layout!

Oh...and in reference to your request...I'd like to see some shots of the locomotive lights playing across the scenes if you can manage that with your camera set up. I'm not sure if you could place your camera on a flatcar in front of your locomotive, or maybe directly behind it? I have no idea how that would look. I will have to try that myself.

Yes I can push or pull the cam car, and shoot from another camera at the same time. Lots of possibilities!

@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout Of course! I can still vividly remember my first train set. It came with a bridge and trestle set and was made up of a Chessie F unit, Burlington Northern boxcar, Conrail open hopper, Union Pacific gondola, and an AT&SF caboose. I can still smell the electrical "burn" smell from running it the first time. My first upgrade was a concrete culvert toy loader, something more common for O scale sets, so I could load culvert pieces in to my gondola at the push of a lever. I'm sure those fond memories are a big reason why this hobby is still alive for me today. I can't wait to see what you try next, especially since you have quite a bit of structure lighting up and running to add to the nighttime scenes.

Sorry I’m late Bill, very realistic, as ever. Great atmospheric shots, maybe a touch brighter? Love the switching 👍 ATB

Just curious Bill . . . what kind of camera are you using in this video? Can you manually adjust the ISO?

Hi Boomer, I was using my Akaso action cam mounted to a flat car. It doesn't have manual ISO. I can apply LUT's and filters in post, but all I did with this one was lens correction to get rid of the fisheye effect. I normally use my phone and can do manual ISO on that, but I never have lol. Any suggestions?

In my opinion the video is too dark. For example, you should still be able to see the tracks a little.
