Your camera itself is pretty good, until it's not. You failed to resolve remote viewing issue, you log customers out of their accounts, and my DVR (2nd unit) doesn't work anymore.

This system sucks! what a waste of my hard-earned money. system records when it wants for however long it wants. I never get a complete video of the action happening. It pauses, jumps and super speeds videoing and on playback. Can only view videos on my phone, when I try on my laptop it tells me the DVR is offline! I used to be able to watch and download on my laptop.

I recently bought this unit, and I must say that I am completely satisfied with it. Best bang for your buck. You will see some negative reviews, but people are not taking into consideration that this is “Not” a top tier professional surveillance system. You get what you pay for sometimes. In my opinion this is a great system for the diy home owner that does not want to spend alot of money. As far as longevity goes, I will have to find out for myself.

My DP8 burned out 2 days before my bike was stolen. I had a second one bought on ebay but can't unlock it. It came with unused cameras so wasn't stolen...but here I am watching a feed I can't make any use of...on 2 systems, as I write this.

3 years of storms and heavy rains I have 4 of the older black cameras “no lights” but can use up to 8. It’s the c20x and works just fine still especially if you take the time to set it up correctly and don’t go with the defaults.

Just wanted to clarify and elaborate slightly... with our older systems, a monitor was required for initial setup, as that was the only way the customer could proceed through the Startup Wizard and configure the system. However, a monitor is no longer required with our Bluetooth systems. The customer can connect to the recorder via the app using a Bluetooth connection and proceed through the Startup Wizard right from their mobile device. A monitor is purely optional with this setup. They can conveniently do it all right from the app.

ide like to know how the software is for these systems. The cheapo HF systems are pretty clear and record well but to review you have to watch or sift through hours of footage to find events, Does this software have event markers in the replay? I see it has alarms when the motion sensors detect something but when you review the footage what does it look like?

I bought these, tested them out before I installed. I installed, and now we're not getting any feed. Manually typed, couldn't find on Lan network, and didn't work with QR. Might have to return, these are trash in my experience. Giving it one more night before deciding to toss. I much prefer arlo pro 4, even though they're wifi and need to recharge. They're more user friendly

I've installed a few different night owl systems but I've liked the night owl BTD2 series the most. The app interface is slightly complicated but it's really easy to use once you get the hang of it. They're not too pricy so if I had to say, yes they're worth it.
