Night Radian flaps spoilers

This is a video detailing how I installed flaps/spoilers on my Night Radian. It helps a lot with landing, since the plane wants to keep flying once in ground effect.

Nice install. Do you have the BNF or PNP? Curious if you had to reprogram the BNF receiver to open the remaining channels. I believe my channels 4-6 are locked out.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get notification of your comment. I had the BNF version, but replaced the receiver with my own. The stock receiver has channels 4 and 6 locked out, and channel 5 is used for SAFE. There are instructions on how to unlock the other channels, but you will need the programming cable to do it. Hi Brian, great video. Did you have the BNF version? My BNF Night Radian has a 6 channel receiver but I’m wondering if they are somehow disable the unused channels. Got my flaps cut and installed but nothing I do gets the servos working. Servos test fine in rudder or elevator channel. Thanks!

No idea, I'm not using the Spektrum receiver with SAFE. I imagine it wouldn't do much of anything, other than stabilize the pitching change when the flaps are lowered. I'm sure you should still mix in some elevator to keep the nose level.

If you bought the BNF version, or installed your own Spektrum SAFE Rx in the PNF version, SAFE could be put on a channel if you wanted to use it. The BNF version would work as is for SAFE. A newly installed unprogrammed Rx would require you to program it on your own. If it's one of the newer SRXL2 Rxs, you could do it on your Tx. If it's an older SAFE SRXL Rx, you'd have to get the 3065 Programming cable to do it.

@@mapleacrefarm I'am in the same boat as the other reply's, we bought the BNF and now find the AR636A receiver channels 4 and 6, that could be used for flaps, are locked out. If somebody out there knows a way to unlock channel 4 and 6, please give a yell.
