One thing I’ve always appreciated about Honda/Acura is that the headlights come on when you unlock the car or open the door. I wish Toyota/Lexus would add this feature.

Bought a 2025 CRV Sport L Hybrid three days ago. Been driving Honda and Acura vehicles from the 80s so not a newcomer. Love the design and drive of this SUV, but the headlights to me leaves a lot to be desired. I have so far only driven around town at night a couple evenings in the city with clear weather and I honestly have on a few occasions had to check to ensure my headlights are on. I really wished they did a better job with the lights and why on earth could they not fit the US versions with some fog lights? I am concerned on what it will look like during rain. Anyone else having the same complaint?

You can get the aftermarket fog lights that match the international version that I believe is in China. A KZbinr from New Jersey does videos of his installations and it looks pretty good. It's a small fog light right on the corner of that L shape

THANK YOU!!!!! I have begged reviewers to do night time review segments in their auto reviews for years!!! Most never do. Now, why is it that Honda (& Acura) goes cheap-ass on us by NOT giving us illuminated areas around the damn cup holders, inside the center consul or some accent lighting so that the cab is not so damn dark, and also on the drivers side mirror & tailgate not having a puddle light is a disgrace. I have spilled more coffee trying to find the cup holders while driving than a little bit and it is the little things that can be the most annoying over time. And no 360 Camera on the top trim? WTF!!! Honda, I hope you are listening here because these little annoyance's can be the thing that makes me take a Hyundai or a Mazda over YOU!!!

It’s a shame because I like the look of this car, but they need to up their game to compete with the competition. Panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting of some sorts would be nice even as a package that you can buy, but they don’t even offer that. The things I look for in a car, I have a feeling they refresh model or up the Annie hopefully technology wise, but we’ll see Honda kind of cocky and they know they can sell whatever they put out because devoted buyers will buy them regardless..

Same, black seats get too hot and take forever too cool down even if ventilation is on. In fact, the CR-V doesn’t even get seat ventilation which makes me less likely to buy this vehicle.

The headlights are very poor at night on dark windy roads. Add tinted windows and no fog lights, and it’s very difficult to see without the brights on

Imagine all the complaints everyone has here about the headlights and the interior lighting which I fully agree with and then now here we are with two enormous recalls on their hands... 2.6 million cars being recalled all the Hybrids of the CRV the Accord and the Civic. I had cash in hand ready to go buy a 2025 CRV sport hybrid touring and then one thing led to another and now I'm totally in love with the look of the car but all of these issues with usefulness and utility, let alone safety have got me so pissed off.... and for 45k you basically aren't getting all the other things that everybody's offering, the panoramic sunroof, the ventilated seats, the heads up display, ambient lighting, the bigger touch screen and even the auto folding mirrors pisses me off because I've gotten used to that.. I've bought about 22 cars in my lifetime and this is the first time I'm literally sitting here not able to pull the trigger on something with cash in hand. We're at a weird time where cars are evolving into the hybrids and the electric, and the worst part is I'm getting ready to retire and I want to drive it for 10-15 years but cars today don't seem like they're going to go 20 years without a lot of electrical expenses... not only that but there may be cars that are flying like George Jetson by the time we hit the next 10 years I'll be the only one on the ground LOL

I test drove one...great in most aspects, except the thin uncomfortable seats were pretty horrible. I tried a Pilot too and those were fine. ...and I am pretty thin.

I'm 5'10 185 lb and I thought the Honda CRV had great lumbar support and very comfortable seats however this was just 30 minute test drive. How are y'all finding the seats to be uncomfortable is quite worrying. What do y'all think is a more comfortable ride for someone who needs back support within this price range

I really enjoy you and your brother’s thoughtful reviews. I was wondering if you could include basic insurance quote for your area. Of course everyone’s rate is different but it is now a significant part of ownership. You could even do it as an index rating. For example our Santa Fe would be a normal at 1. ($1800/yr). The Camry we just got came in at a factor of 1.3. You could use this instead of dollars. I don’t see anyone else doing this and I’m sure you can see the value in helping finding total funding of the car. Again I really enjoy how thorough you guys are.

Thanks! We like that idea. The problem is that the region you live and personal driving histories have so much impact on the rate even more so than the car itself. I think it's difficult to get info about insurance that would apply to everyone.

@@CarConfections I totally get that. What I thought would be valuable Is for example is the Toyota GR way more expensive than a regular Corolla, Camry or a 4 Runner. Is an EV much more to insure than an ICE. I was thinking in general terms not specifics as age, number of tickets, how far you are driving, etc. Just a heads up if you are really interested in a car that might potentially cost you way more insurance instead of another model. Given a $50K price point you have a range of insurance rates due to the nature of the car you purchase. That’s all I was thinking.

I bought a 2025 Honda crv sport hybrid in August 2024. The driver seat gives a backpain and the headlights are poor ( dim ) when you driver at night. If you are considering to buy this car. test drive it at night. Honda purposely put in low quality seats and worse headlights. One night, I drove it when it rained, I almost get involved in an accident because of the poor headlights and zero visibility. Honda should add fog lights. I don't recommend it to buy. I am thinking to trade it for Palisade.

Agreed! Seats are cheap and poor quality. My Cr-V is a year old and the seat is so uncomfortable and already looks worn out thanks to Honda’s cheapness in the fit and finish of the seats and the interior. The lights are awful! No change in brightness when high beams turn on and the interior lighting is even worse. Honda cheaper out on the whole car.

I have back problems and I am in a rush to get out of my 2014 Civic. I test drove the 2025 CRV and I think it is extremely comfortable. So if y'all don't like the CRV what is more comfortable?

@koober1 im 5'10 185, on the slim side. With a herniated disk, i appreciated the lumbar support and and overall comfort in my short sport touring test drive. Your description seconds all those characteristics that i'd need. I hope that doesn't change in the longrun. Thanks for detailing your issues, and good luck getting that addressed. Sounds like you'll have to sell it off.

3:44 the trunk lighting is worst in class. They cheaped out and the back lighting is poor and no space back there. It’s worse than the Civic. So disappointed in my CR-V. I can’t wait to get rid of it after the lease end.

6:43 the half digital gauge is cheap and one thing that confuses me about Honda. The Civic has a fully digital gauge cluster with personalization. The CR-V already behind the times out the gate.

These headlights are the worst on the new CR-V. I have a 23 Sport Hybrid and the high beams never seem bright enough or different than the daytime running lights. So dim and dull. Just like the Cr-V’s poorly thought out interior. Honda really is ripping off consumers with cheap products and parts and overcharging for next to nothing for the inside and outside.
