Probably the steam team were scraped and some sent off, But Edward Percy Thomas Henry and James were scraped bc thay were made a lot so there was no use for tham Plus Edward and Thomas Were Old so thay weren't save not even tham being the last of there class could save tham, but Engines like Gordon Donald Douglas Oliver and Duck were preserved Bc thay are well know classes and Engines Like one offs were probably scraped (BUT HAY THATS JUST A THEORY AND JAMES THEORY)

He probally got lucky and was preserved as a petition from the flying scotsman and since Gordon is the prototype of the A1's the NRM accepted and now Gordon is a display at York or even pulls trains

Could of been that unfortunately the heir to the 3rd topham hat died young and his farther already an older man could not take the strain of running a railway like Thomas’s and the loss of his son so he died of a stroke or heart attack. New management cared not for the history of the line or engines significance in preservation communities and had them scrapped, now the engines avenge sir topamhats but haunting the line which had destroyed the family’s legacy and their own.

my theory is that Toppam Hatt 2nd (Charles T. Hatt) was forced to resign from being controller in 1960, when Dr. Richard Beaching came to Sodor to cut costs, and Cut costs he did. He ordered the major branch lines of the railway like Thomas' branch line and Edwards branch line to be shut down and destroyed, leaving former Branch line engines Thomas, Percy, Toby, Edward, and maybe the China-clay twins without work leading them to be scrapped under the modernization plans. Dr. Beaching also ordered the main freight engines, James and Henry, to be scrapped immediately after he left Sodor due to being outdated technology. One of the only surviving members of the steam team is Gordon. He survived because he was bought by a preservation society. all the other steamies are presumed to be scrapped or preserved. but that's just my theory.

@@kianslegoexpressworld1668 Sodor had millions of engines. So I think my all would be scrapped some would be preserved but most would be scrapped but your theory is correct as there is a video showing the last train on Thomas’s branch line. But Sodor claimed it’s independence therefore Dr breching wouldn’t be able to do such a thing. As the isle is under the directors control, that is why I believe a new controller had to have taken over Sodor.
