At first, I was kind of underwhelmed by the song but I now dig it. I do think Doug could have been more passionate/aggressive vocally on this but I overall dig it. I do love "A Dialogue In Cataplexy" more but I think its safe to say everyone here does as well. Very excited to hear this record in full!

I LOVED the first album but I was kind of afraid that this second one would only be more of the same... but I'm happy to say that it's not at all! It still sounds exactly like Night Verses but incredibly different and diverse! Can't wait!

Whether we expect greatness or failure, I think we can all agree that we're anticipating this release. Personally, I hope that the rest of the album is this experimental because the last album, while great, didn't have quite enough variety to sustain fifteen songs. This album is shorter, and, judging by the singles, seems like it will be much more varied. However, at this point, I can only hope.

I love this song. It kinda took me a minute to warm up to the chorus; but as I listened a couple times, I grew to like it a lot. There’s just one thing that kind of confuses me... what’s up with the last 30~ish seconds? What is the message the fast voice keeps repeating over and over?

Huge fan of The Sleeping and Night Verses first album is damn near flawless from start to finish. But not gonna lie....haven't quite felt these first two new tracks from their sophomore album. Worried the sophomore slump is gonna be legit. Still holding out hope.

Nice and particular sound for this kind of "mood" of this song... but I hope the rest of the album will not have the same one :) p.s.: I think "lift up" is an incredible first album for a band, it is very original and innovative! Listen to Night Verses a bit more, they'll grow on you. You can't just jump from the Sleeping and expect these guys to be the same--- don't get me wrong, I love The Sleeping, but this is on a different wavelength. Respect that this isn't The Sleeping and that Doug has moved on.

Did you hear the song they put out a week ago? "A Dialogue in Cataplexy," reeks of energy. Don't forget an album can't just be one song. Lift Your Existence had songs like Parasomnia and I Don't Want My Loved Ones to Die. Maybe wait to hear the whole thing before you rag on the band??

+VashD15 Yes i already have the track as i pre-ordered the album. I stand by my comment as the vocals and sound as exactly as i described. I'm not shitting on the band, i'm expressing an opinion. And i'm well aware of their previous album and EP as i've been supporting these boys since day one. But this track should not have made the cut. They are capable of better and i want that for them. I know that in a recent interview they mentioned that their producer chose a lot more of these kinds of tracks over other more intense material. So this release has me concerned about the rest to come. As a band i'm sure they are strong enough to take a negative comment in stride. You don't need to be their knight in armor.

When I am King I don't think I'm being a "knight" if I say you should wait it out, I think I'm being fair. I'm definitely not saying they don't have bad songs either, but for a band whose entire substance is rooted in some kind of soul, saying they've lost it might go a bit far.

VashD15 Then we agree, there's more to this coming album, and I will reserve my final opinion for the entire album. But the first release was still a little shaky from what I had come to expect and then "drift" came about and it lead to my concern about the album. And maybe the artistic point of view is beyond my scope and that's fine. But as far as vocals go, I expect more from Doug. From "the Sleeping to Night Verses" his voice has been powerful and this track feels like it was recorded laid back in a chesterfield, legs up and falling asleep.

Don't complain about one song without acknowledging the rest of the album.
