The thought of a monster in the toilet had never occurred to my child-brain. And then a cassette cover informed it that that was a possibility and I was afraid of toilets for a few years. I'd throw a piece of toilet paper or two in as a peace offering before using the toilet. My adult brain laughs at the logic: oh yes, two pieces of toilet paper will surely satiate a butt-eating beast.

At one point he was answering questions about his work, and while most of the other students wanted to know about The Long Goodbye n such, I couldn't help but ask him about this movie, in particular - why? A little known scifi thriller that i thought was great was Last Lives (1997). Starring: C. Thomas Howell, Billy Wirth, Judge Reinhold and Jennifer Rubin. You should check it out. Definitely underrated!

The plot twist was that they did get a Happy Ending! Which is kinda rare these days with horror movies all having the mandatory twist bad ending with the villain surviving or leaving a tease for the unavoidable sequels.

We actually had an emergency at a place I worked where someone tossed a watermelon off a sailboat and it hit someone in the water. They nearly drowned and it was actually incredibly scary as they were in 80ft water with no PFD on.

I'm a big fan of Richard Stanley and have been able to interview him numerous times. He was happy to talk about anything but Moreau, because that has been done to death. With The Island of Doctor Moreau, everything and more has already been said in the documentary Lost Soul. There really isn't anything I can bring to the table.
