@ So there are no cities worth living in then. Every day I count my blessings that I live up in the hills of Bel Air so yeah, I’m not leaving. The flat lands are bad news now. What’s weird is most Americans just sat and watched all of this incubating for decades until it’s too late. ⏰ leave the country or move to a better neighborhood! Not sure about that voting stuff anymore.

I’m from Europe, eastern Europe, Serbia to be specific and 6 years ago my friend from Ohio took me to Manhattan and we spent 2 days there. One evening we took a shortcut through the central park because our hotel was next to Plaza. It was 11 PM and I was surprised by the tens of dozens of rats jumping across the path. Then I saw my friend looking around with a scared face. Just then I realized, holy crap! It is 11PM and we’re taking a walk through the central park. It was God’s grace and protection that nothing happened.

There’s an American vibe, but yeh the rubbish, homeless, graffiti, shuttered shops. But it’s like many cities in the UK. I’d say there’s probably more unpleasant areas such as Everton or a few outskirts of a few UK cities. But that’s true of a few American cities also. At least this video is lit. Nobody is going to help you even if you think there’s safety in numbers. It’s just a bunch of gawpers with mobile camera phones, who’ll do or say nothing.

The same Edinburgh in the UK 🇬🇧 that's rammed with immigrants and hardly hear a Scottish accent on the streets? The same Edinburgh that in recent history was the AIDS capital of Europe? The same Edinburgh where feral youths run amok in hellholes like Wester Hails, Granton, Niddrie, Pilton, Gorgie, Broomhouse, Wardieburn etc etc? The same Edinburgh that's constantly in the grip of a heroine epidemic? The same Edinburgh where entire parts of it are like downtown Warsaw? And not the same Edinburgh that a man was recently decapitated at night in the middle of the cowgate and covered up by the police with a fabricated invisible bus? Edinburgh is a dump with one historic tourist trap street and a pishy old castle. You ain't all that.

Me my girlfriend and some friends went to New York in February 2024, and this was the exact street where our hotel was located, (Opera House Hotel at minute 10:15), So many memories in this video!!! It can be a little intimidating walking around that area, especially during night time and it is definitely a very different environment compared to Manhattam. It snowed a lot during that time while we were there, but overall we had a blast in New York! But anyway like you said "if you don't bother people, nobody is going to bother you." Thank you for the footage 🗽

Lyrics: Start spreading the news, you're leaving today I want to be a part of it, New York, New York Your vagabond shoes, they are longing to stray And step around the heart of it, New York, New York I wanna wake up in that city, that doesn't sleep And find your king of the hill, top of the heap Your small town blues, they're melting away I'm gonna make a brand-new start of it, in old New York You always make it there, you make it anywhere It's up to you, New York, New York In New York, New York I wanna wake up in that city, that doesn't sleep And find I'm king of the hill, top of the list (you bet) A number one, king of the hill These little town blues, they have all melted away And I'm gonna make a brand-new start of it, right there in old New York You better believe it, folks You always make it there, you make it anywhere Come on, come through, New York, New Yorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!

When I was little, my parents used to take us shopping at 3rd Avenue and 149th st. For school and household items. That's where it was. I used to see cops in the area since people use the subway and buses to get to and from home or work or late night school. The other boroughs have a a spot like this too. I hope you had someone with you video the area.. 😮

This doesn’t show what “America” is really like. It’s based on one neighborhood in one city, which isn’t fair for a country as big and diverse as the U.S. it’s like saying Frankfurt represents all of Germany. If you’re from the Bronx, you know this is one of the tougher areas. But even in the Bronx, places like Riverdale show a completely different side. And outside of New York, states like Colorado and Washington have beautiful nature and landmarks. It’s frustrating how often people generalize and criticize Americans. Every country has its own problems, including poor areas, and the news mostly shows the bad stuff. As someone who’s traveled to 17 countries, I’ve noticed that Europeans, in particular, often insult Americans without really knowing us at the individual level. I was born and raised in the Bronx, and my family came to this country with nothing. But through hard work, we’ve built careers and bought homes in safe, beautiful neighborhoods. This kind of social mobility is harder to achieve in countries with racial/gender barriers, or economic systems. Not here to argue and say we are perfect but to have a discussion and educate.
@kevan65

I absolutely agree with this comment. Unfortunately a lot of the blame lays with the general media and their reporting, but that doesn't mean that people should not realise that they only report on the negative aspects of ilife. There are millions of hard working good people in this neighbourhood, America and the world, no matter the neighbourhood or state of a country.
