This was a fun episode. I did a selfie in the same phone booth that Ken used, at Nelson Ghost Town. My pose and lighting were a little off, so I'll have to try that one again. I do have a few other long-exposure selfies that came out well.

Selfies can be a great "creative block buster" if you're running out of ideas in the field or just need to switch it up for a little while. I am glad you survived the phone booth and lived to tell the tale. Thanks for watching! - Tim

Do you guys ever use multi-exposure/bright, with instant review set to "hold", so you can see the progress of the lightpainting after each shot?

I personally have not. I think you asked this question somewhere, possibly for one of my Photofocus articles? But when I attempted to answer it, I didn't see it anymore. Have you tried this? Also, if anyone else has attempted this, please let us know.

@@KenLeePhotography I asked you on fb messenger but it looked like you never saw my message. Anyway I saw a video of guy lightpainting with a Lumix that has "live view composite" and looked around my camera menus for something like it. On the K1, with multiexposure using bright (that I learned about from one of Tim's vids) and putting instant review on hold, it's the closest thing to live view composite. I tested it on toys at home, after each shot, the screen shows the cumulative stack. Press the shutter to turn off the instant review, and shoot the next one and so on. I set my K1 to save the result as a raw file. On my GFX100s, it works a bit differently. Using the drive mode for multiple exposures, you get a view of the cumulative stacked shots but after each one, you have to choose the option of keeping it, not keeping it, and continue to stack or stop stacking. It saves each shot as a raw file, and the stacked shot as a jpg.

@@christianlainesse4281 Got it. I couldn't find it! I saw your message notification on my phone. Then I looked all over for it. FB Messenger, Photofocus, Instagram, everywhere, and couldn't find it. I still can't find it. That's an intriguing idea, though! Do you use this technique for your light painting regularly? How does it work for you? Do you like it?

@@KenLeePhotography I just started dabbling in lightpainting with my current cameras, gathering knowledge and building my workflow.

@@christianlainesse4281 WOW! This is super fascinating. I've always been jealous of the Olympus folks who can watch long exposures build in real time. What you've described is a pretty fascinating work around on a limitation most cameras have. Are you limited to 30 seconds when you're doing this or can you enable a bulb mode?
