I think long term, after balancing, Ambessa is going to end up in the mid lane and perform a lot like Sylus, Yasuo and Katarina but just be more tanky. Like a mid lane Kisante. Nightmare fuel for sure yeah.

there are tons of stupid players out there using ambessa with fighter items like spear of shojin, but they are wrong!! ambessa is an ASSASSIN champion. she doesn't has hard CC to disable enemies, so you wil be useless without enough damage on your items. because yes, she indeed has many dashes with her passive, but what are you going to do if you built ambessa like a tank when you stick to the enemy? tickle them, because again, you don't have crowd control to help your teammates

I've successfully countered Ambessa twice so far as Poppy jungle. One game she was the mid laner and the other she was their jungler. Save W for when she pops first Q and then jump on her while she scrambles to run away. Poppy is super tanky and locks down jumpy assassins like her no problem.
