I love how Barker always seeks to improve on his own work. First he published The Skins of the Fathers (a short story with a very similar plot to Cabal); then he published Cabal, Nightbreed's basis, and basically a more detailed take on the short story's concept; then he moved on to Weaveworld, a complex and awesome dark fantasy novel with the same themes; then, ultimately, he adapted Cabal into Nightbreed on celluloid, a film that expanded on Cabal in multiple ways. They're all variants of the same story at their core.

It's a shame that an entire generation have grown up watching those Horrible X-men movies and thinking that they have anything to do with Marvel's creation. It's kind of like people watching that Russel Crowe movie (Noah's Arc) and thinking that it is a fine representation of the Bible.

I'm involved with health-sciences, I've never been in a fight in my entire life, I do community service, and I'm not afraid of most things(except the worst human fears that everyone shares obviously). I was watching Jaws, Godzilla and Alien/Aliens at 4-5 years old by myself(parents taught me to put it in the VCR and press play), and never had nightmares, or fears of the dark. I watched horror movies all throughout my childhood. I also played violent videogames. Soooo, your argument is invalid. =)

Yea, of course. Not saying everyone can do that as a kid. Just that guy said it was bad parenting, which is nuts. The only movie I had some trouble with as a kid was 'The Cell', and only because for one thing it involved real topics(a serial killer abducting women), and mainly because of the scene where the disturbing ego manifestation of the killer is pulling a dude's intestines out with this wheel thing. I didn't have nightmares about it though, it was just a bit disturbing(I was 13 at the time). John Carpenter's 'The Thing' was the scariest movie I have ever seen, but it's also my all-time favorite(Think I saw that around 7 or 8). I only had a few nightmares ever as a kid, but my older brother taught me to take control of my dreams, and to try to imagine myself with guns to kill the monsters. Never had nightmares after that! XD

" that part was deleted. When the Dr. was killed he was propped up in a crucifix type of way. The priest who was burnt by the Nightbreed fire looked up at the Dr. and said " They will pay for what they did ", and the Doctors head moved. All that was in the original movie.
