I thought this was about a dead lover since how sad it seemed and the fact that they had been missing them for two years, then it said that they had walked away and he wanted them to come home. It somehow made it sadder. Obviously this song could be applied to anyone missing anyone. Still probably one of the saddest nightcores I've heard that doesn't obviously involve death or abuse.

This songs gives off a sad vibe. Like 2 lovers happily together then one day, one lover was diagnosed with cancer. The doctor told them they had 2 years left, and the other was devastated. The line “These 24 months(2 years) felt like 10 years” Makes me think that the time they last spent together felt like an eternity that he/she wouldn’t want to leave, then after they died, the one lover knew they had to let go, and so on. I’m probably wrong, and this might sound pretty stupid, but that’s just what I think about in this song...

I still come back to this video when I remember my dog and start to feel sad about his death. He died in 2019 and this house still doesn't feel like home. He had a medical condition that made him cough all the time. He sat by my door when I was in my room and by the front door when I left the house for any reason. He coughed so much that I've grown so used to hearing it before going to bed every night. Now I sometimes can't sleep unless I play the only video ever recorded of him. it's the video where he actually played with our cat when we first got her. It was the first and only time he played with another animal. They were so close too. My cat would sit next to him and sleep next to him sometimes. She had a hard time sleeping without him for a while and now she sleeps like she normally does. I usually stay up all night unable to sleep sometimes and at times I get so tired that I fall asleep randomly when I'm not trying to because I sometimes can't sleep due to how quiet the house is.

This reminds me of my mother that I had to let go not too long ago because she fell deep in addiction and wouldn't let anyone help.. She lashed out at my little brother and that was the last straw. I couldn't let her hurt any of us anymore so I left her inside a hospital. I feel so guilty for doing that but we fought with her for over 7 years trying to get her better. She just kept getting worse and more violent...I hope now that she has nothing that she will come to her senses. She was an amazing mother when we were younger. I couldn't ask for a better mother and I'll always love her..

⚠️ TW TALK ABOUT SUICIDE ⚠️ This song makes me imagine two twins that were really close but the sister was really sick and dying she's been in the hospital since she could remember she was in so much pain that she tumbled out of bed and went to the roof and jumped. The brother than found her while going to visit her, he screams while holds her close. The police and ambulance came they tried to take her away but he wouldn't let anyone touch her while getting blood all over him. They had to contain him to take her, he reached out to her while resisting the police man. After they took her the brother was taken to a hospital n they said that he in shock and would not speak for days... he than went back to "normal" and attended her funeral he felt like he lost his other half and so he made this song about how it's not the same without her there with him....😭😭 I- that's literally what I got from just listening to the song once like WHAT!?
