wanting to be thin is ok, but if you're doing it more to make everyone else happy, then you yourself will never be happy because the world and society are cruel, if you're to thin there's something wrong with you, if you're chubby then they will still have an issue with it, I used to want to be skinny, and lately I've been trying to think more positively about my own body and you know what? I'm a lot more happy now than I was a year ago, and feel confident wearing things I never would have thought about wearing. live for yourself and no one else :)

You don't look like everyone else because you are you not everyone else :) technically everyone is an altered version of other people, everyone has the same features, eyes, ears, nose, legs, arms, mouth, all that stuff but for every person they are all a little different. I myself am around 6ft tall, with short brown hair, blue eyes, and all that while one of my sisters is around 5ft tall, long dirty blonde hair, with a different shape mouth and eyes than I have, and she's also way skinnier than I am. Then my other two sisters and other two brothers again look different than me we have our similarities because we are related but even the parts of us that look similar are still different everyone's an altered version of other people if we were exactly the same we'd technically be clones haha even identical twins have differences in their facial features and such one could taller, one could have slightly different shaped eyes and such every ones personalities are all different too! don't compare yourself to others because they are completely unique, as are you! :) try trying to shift your thinking, take something you don't like about yourself, and instead of thinking negative things about that something find something you like about it. For example what I've done is looked at my face which I never really liked, I've studied it and found that I have 3 moles in a line down the side of my face and I think they are cute, I never liked my eyebrows either, but I've discovered they aren't as bad as I thought they used to be, my lips which I've never liked because I thought they didn't suit my face I found I started thinking the opposite. And you know what? I no longer really hate my face anymore instead I wear things now that bring out the features that I like, and I'm a little bit more confident :) every single person is beautiful in their own way. your dad is right, it's ok to be different, because as soon as you think you've reached the standards of "everyone else" you still won't be happy because you won't be yourself. and yourself is the most important thing to be. sorry for rambling but I hope it helps even just a little bit.
