I myself enjoy songs in other languages regardless of the song, I think a big thing is that you know what they are saying in english songs (for people who only speak english) and a lot of songs have some dumb/dirty lyrics that completely ruin the song but in other languages you can just enjoy the sound and flow of the song.

For those non-Germans. I got curious about the lyrics and just put them into Google Translate. It's pretty good! Here you go. Into the evening sky the charms rise tonight Wild folk and Lilith's kind, Steady winds secretly awake (?) Let us go to the fires of the fires, grunting to the stars Good and evil, too, we carry on today In the pastures our dreams will sound, and the winds will sing our songs Let us go with the sparks over fire, in Walpurgis night Heyjo hears the violins hears the violins, Heyjo fire are kindled Heyjo follows the violin follows the violin in the Walpurgis night In the muted game of the violins, our nocturnal round turns And we enter wildly and freely into this ancient charm Once in the great circle we dance in that way Until the first morning light breaks our dream-tissue In the pastures our dreams will sound, and the winds will sing our songs Let us go with the sparks over fire, in Walpurgis night Heyjo hears the violins hears the violins, Heyjo fire are kindled Heyjo follows the violin follows the violin in the Walpurgis night Heyjo hears the violins hears the violins, Heyjo fire are kindled Heyjo follows the violin follows the violin in the Walpurgis night

@arcticbanana667 жыл бұрын
It's actually Marisa Kirisame from the Touhou games, if you didn't know. Fun fact, one of her theme songs is titled "Walpurgisnacht", which is probably why her picture was used here.
@yesntpittzant41566 жыл бұрын
The "Walpurgisnacht" was a real thing in Germany especially in the middle ages till. It's still practised today but not in the same way it used to be. In the Walpurgisnacht especially women travelled to a special Mountain in East-Middle Germany and it is said that they have done orgys in the name of satan and that they executed weird dancing rituals for satan. The Church tried to interven and many has been killed as "witches" (which wasn't necessary the truth)

Notice Me are you german? This’s very interesting, by the way I’m Russian
@yesntpittzant41566 жыл бұрын
ror ror Yes, in school we read a book called "Faust". The main character "Faust" is a old scientist who makes a deal with the devil. Faust then becomes like 30 years old and falls in love with a young girl but then he somehow kills her whole family and goes to the walpurgisnacht with the devil. (not an important scene). In the end he lets his love die alone. Pretty weird story 😅

Wasn't Walpurgisnacht supposed to be a celebration in honor of St.Walpurga's canonization? I was pretty sure Walpurga was a saint who was known for fighting against diseases and witchcraft. There is Hexennacht, which means Witches Night, was supposed to be a night when witches gather on a mountain peak for a meeting/ritual and the people would pray to St.Walpurga for his protection against witches. That's roughly what I remember.
@Cherry-hg2ez6 жыл бұрын
here is the English translation hope this serves you good lol now you can sing it XD In the night-sky tonight The witches rise Wild folk and Lilith's kind Lurking, secretly ride the winds. Let us wander to the fires Whispering, reach for the stars Both the good and the bad word Take us (further) on and on tonight. In the meadows our dreams will ring And the winds will sing our songs. Let us leap over the fires with the sparks On Walpurgis Night! Hear the fiddles, hear the fiddles, The fires are kindled! Follow the round dance, follow the round dance On Walpurgis Nicht. Unruly in the fiddles' play Our nightly round dance spins And we join, wild and free, This old magic. Only once in great circles We dance in that way Until the first light of morning Breaks our dream-web. In the meadows our dreams will ring And the winds will sing our songs. Let us leap over the fires with the sparks On Walpurgis Night! Hear the fiddles, hear the fiddles, The fires are kindled! Follow the round dance, follow the round dance On Walpurgis Nicht.

@victimshunterstudios89947 жыл бұрын
