I feel the exact same way, test a partner, he isn't the thing. Walk through a door, he is one. It was so bad but the rest of it was great

I don't think they can; the entire reason this ended up being a thing in the game (lol), is because of level design. I.e. the player has to go into a boss room, or something where the friendly AI aren't able to go (they lack the ability to climb ladders or something), so as a last-minute band-aid fix the devs just made them turn into Things. To "fix" this, Nightdive would have to redesign the levels, get the original VA's back to do new voicelines for when the NPCs reach an area they normally could never reach and appear in cutscenes they never should've been in, they'd have to redo a bunch of mission scripting to account for NPCs surviving longer than they should of, add new animations and NPC behaviors for climbing ladders/ledges to reach areas they normally couldn't, etc. This would be more suited to a full-blown remake or sequel instead of a mere remaster.

I had a friend who showed me this game but I never bothered with getting my own copy for my PC, this was easily one of my quickest purchases I've made along with your other games lol! I love everyone at Nightdive for what you've given us, I've been eternally grateful since the Turok Remaster! If you guys ever remaster G-NOME I'd be stoked! Also if you ever get into movies please demake the CGI in the The Thing 2011 prequel, thanks!

Can’t wait for this one to get a physical release. Assuming it’s gonna be limited run based on previous working relationship but wouldn’t be upset if it were super rare. I wish I had the room on the switch to play now digitally but I’m out of space and I’m not swapping micro sd’s never thought I’d need more than 2 tb with 99% of my games being physical but here we are 🤣

I am four hours in and absolutely loving this. It has been such a long time since I have been so genuinely excited to get my hands on a game. This has taken me back to my early gaming days. You guys delivered! The textures, the lighting, the gameplay! while all remaining faithfull to the original experience you have still managed to improve upon and integrate a modern approach at the same time, thus elevating the game to new levels. Among a mass of increasingly expensive and bloated modern games often lacking any soul or direction, it appears you guys have really created some....Thing. well done and congratulations to everyone involved. ❤

Hey nightdive any clue which games you plan on remastering next? Perhaps underrated classic ps1 games or games that had great stories but the gameplay wasn't properly utilized ? This game sucks. I was hoping for a horror solo style FPS. Instead, you have to manage a team and it's like an old arcade game, where you kill wave after wave until the next level. Then rinse and repeat. Dumb, no thanks.

I don't think Nightdive has the ability to touch any of those. Focus Entertainment probably already has a Space Marine 1 remaster in the pipeline while the rest of what you listed would need the approval and cooperation of both Activision and EA in order to make happen and last I checked none of them are interested in re-releasing their old legacy games because it would conflict with whatever they're trying to sell then.
